EGTE Day Special 2025: Film Showing and Community Conversations on Environmental Awareness

In celebration of PNU Visayasโ€™ 57th Founding Anniversary, we at the Kabilin Eco-Club, together with our partners from the Student Government, The Torch Publications, and Sumpakil Debate Society, proudly led the EGTE Day Special last July 18, 2025, at the Drilon Covered Court.

With the theme โ€œPNU Visayas: 57 Years of Shaping Teachers and Leaders through Sustainable Education,โ€ this yearโ€™s EGTE Day was more than just a program it was a collective movement for environmental awareness and action.

The event was chaired by Dr. Meah L. Gonzaga, whose leadership helped shape the event into a powerful platform for advocacy and education.

From a striking environmental film screening that opened our eyes to the harsh realities of deforestation, to an enriching panel discussion with experts in forestry and environmental policy, the event united students, faculty, and community members in meaningful dialogue.

Our heartfelt thanks go to Forester Andres T. Untal, Carlo Eran, and Rene G. Abordo for generously sharing their knowledge and passion for forest conservation. The panel discussion was skillfully moderated by Dr. Aragon A. Dechimo, Jr. and Ms. Christine I. Liporada, and hosted with energy and grace by Ms. Joy M. Gelantaga-an and Mr. Reynaldo B. Merabe, Jr.

We extend our deepest gratitude to everyone who made this event possible and brought valuable insights and inspired collective action.

EGTE Day 2025 reminded us that environmental stewardship is not just a cause itโ€™s a responsibility. As we continue our mission to be eco-conscious educators and changemakers, may this experience serve as a lasting inspiration to protect the forests that protect us. ๐ŸŒฑ

๐ŸŒฟโœจ Pasundayag at Pakilala 2025 โœจ๐ŸŒฟ

We are immensely proud to share that Kabilin Eco-Club was recognized as the Environmental Champion at this year's Pasundayag at Pagkilala 2025 a celebration of excellence among student organizations and clubs committed to service and sustainability.

Special congratulations to our President, Quenie Marie G. Maximo, who received the Certificate of Recognition for her outstanding leadership as President of Kabilin Eco-Club. We also honor our dedicated past officers Paul Jeffrey Baylon, Hazel Niala, Crysta Clyd Moratilla, Alhambra Vidal, Gefe Macabilin, Erica Pitogo, and Sherwin Jade Salem for their service during AY 2022-2024, receiving a Special Citation for Service Award. Our current officers, including Nolanie B. Dionio (Vice President Internal), Prince Elezer Calan (Vice President External), Jade O. Ontales (Assistant Secretary), Roselyn Sioco (Treasure), Ruby Villanueva (Business Manager), and Leomar G. Emat (Sergeant at Arms), were also recognized with Certificates of Environmental Service.

A heartfelt thank you to our adviser, Dr. Meah L. Gonzaga, whose guidance continues to motivate us to serve and protect Inang Kalikasan.

This recognition strengthens our commitment to promote environmental awareness, sustainable practices, and positive change within our school and community. To all members your passion and dedication are making a real difference.
