WORLD AIDS DAY 2025 ❤️🤍
THEME: “Overcoming disruption, transforming the AIDS response."

Every year, World AIDS Day is commemorated on December 1st to raise awareness about the HIV and AIDS epidemic, show support for people living with HIV, and remember those who have lost their lives to AIDS-related illnesses. This global observance, first established in 1988, serves as a powerful reminder that HIV remains a pressing public health concern that demands collective effort, compassion, and continuous education.

In recent years, the number of HIV cases in the Philippines has continued to increase, particularly among young people. According to the Department of Health (DOH), the majority of new infections are reported among the youth aged 15 to 24 years old—an alarming trend that underscores the urgency of equipping young individuals with accurate information, promoting responsible behavior, and eliminating stigma and discrimination surrounding HIV and AIDS.

In line with this, the Cadiz City Primary Care Facility, in partnership with The Rainbow Alliance, will spearhead the World AIDS Day 2025 Celebration through an HIV, AIDS, and Gender Sensitivity Seminar on December 9, 2025 at Terrace Garden Restaurant, intended for student leaders from the 23 public and private schools in Cadiz City and LGBTQIA+ members from the 22 barangays. This initiative supports Republic Act No. 11166 (Philippine HIV and AIDS Policy Act of 2018) and aligns with Sustainable Development Goal 3: Good Health and Well-being, particularly the global call to end AIDS by 2030.

The 𝐋𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐠𝐨 𝐧𝐠 𝐊𝐚𝐛𝐚𝐭𝐚𝐚𝐧 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓 celebrates the vital role of young people in building a more sustainable, inclusive, and equitable future. Guided by the theme “𝙇𝙤𝙘𝙖𝙡 𝙔𝙤𝙪𝙩𝙝 𝘼𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙨 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙎𝘿𝙂𝙨 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝘽𝙚𝙮𝙤𝙣𝙙,” this year’s celebration highlights the power of grassroots youth-led initiatives in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) while creating impact beyond the community level.

Initiated by 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐑𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐛𝐨𝐰 𝐀𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞, a member organization of the Local Youth Development Council (LYDC) under the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) of Cadiz City, this celebration affirms the role of youth organizations in creating inclusive and empowering spaces—particularly for out-of-school youth and LGBTQIA+ members.

Among the featured activities is 𝐏𝐑𝐎𝐉𝐄𝐂𝐓 𝐆𝐀𝐏: 𝐀 𝐋𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐒𝐤𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐬 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐢𝐧-𝐬𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐨𝐮𝐭-𝐨𝐟-𝐬𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥 𝐋𝐆𝐁𝐓𝐐𝐈𝐀+ 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐨𝐧 𝐀𝐮𝐠𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝟏𝟒, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓 𝐚𝐭 𝐁𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐲 𝐂𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐳𝐧𝐨𝐧, which aims to provide practical skills such as haircutting, makeup artistry, and manicure-pedicure—supporting SDG 1 (No Poverty) and SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) by promoting self-sufficiency and financial empowerment among marginalized groups.

Through these initiatives, Linggo ng Kabataan 2025 becomes more than a celebration—it becomes a platform for empowerment, education, and action. It underscores the belief that the youth are not just the future—they are the present, and they have the power to lead transformative change from their own communities and beyond.

CAPTURE THE GOALS 📸 🌍

Join our Photography Contest for Linggo ng Kabataan 2025 with the theme “Local Youth Actions for the SDGs and Beyond.”

Initiated by 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐑𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐛𝐨𝐰 𝐀𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞, a member organization of the Local Youth Development Council (LYDC) under the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) of Cadiz City, this celebration affirms the role of youth organizations in creating inclusive and empowering spaces—LGBTQIA+ members.

17 slots, 17 SDGs, 17 chances to make an impact through your lens!

Mechanics & Guidelines
1. Eligibility
Open to youth participants, including members of the LGBTQIA+ community, aged 15–30 years old.
Limited to 17 participants only — first come, first served.

2. SDG Assignment
Each participant will be randomly assigned one (1) SDG to serve as the theme and inspiration for their photograph.
The assigned SDG must be the central focus of the photo entry.

3. Entry Specifications
Each participant must submit one original photograph related to their assigned SDG.
Photos may be in color or black and white.
Digital enhancements are allowed but should not alter the authenticity of the image.
Image format: JPEG/PNG, minimum resolution of 1080 x 1080 pixels.

4. Submission of Entries
Deadline for submission: August 13, 2025- 3:00 PM
Entries should be submitted via Google Drive with the following:
Photo file name: SDG
Short caption (max. 50 words) explaining how the photo relates to the SDG.

5. Judging Criteria
Relevance to the assigned SDG – 40%
Creativity and Originality – 30%
Visual Impact – 20%
Technical Quality – 10%

6. Awards & Recognition
Winners will receive cash prizes, certificates, and recognition on August 14, 2025 (Afternoon).
All entries will be displayed in a public exhibit during the Linggo ng Kabataan 2025 celebration.

7. Other Guidelines
Photos must be the participant’s own work and must not have been previously submitted to other contests.
Plagiarism or use of stock images will lead to disqualification.
Organizers have the right to use submitted photos for advocacy and promotional purposes, with proper credit to the photographer.

Lakbay ng Kulay: Arc of Unity, Icon of Visibility (Arch and Icon Competition) 🧚‍♀️🏳️‍🌈

GENERAL GUIDELINES:
1. The contest is open to LGBTQIA+ members and allies.
2. Each team must:
o Design and build an ARC that celebrates LGBT Pride.
o Present an ICON who will embody the theme of the arc.

3. Teams may have up to 14 members (all members must be coming from the collaborating barangays who joined the quiz bee and laro ng lahi), including the muse.
4. The theme of the arc must align with LGBT Pride, Equality, Diversity, and Unity.
5. Arcs must be built using safe, creative, and eco-friendly materials (recycled,
indigenous, or sustainable encouraged).
6. Offensive, discriminatory, or explicit content will lead to disqualification.

III. ARC DESIGN SPECIFICATIONS:
1. Dimensions:
o Height: 8 feet
o Width: 5 feet
2. Arcs should be stable and safe for public viewing.
3. Use of lighting or effects is allowed, but must be disclosed for safety checks.
4. Set-up must be completed within the assigned time before judging.

IV. ICON PRESENTATION:
1. The muse must be a member or representative of the team, identifying as ICON of the LGBTQIA+ community.
2. Each icon will do a short stage walk or pose under their arc once arrived at the Cadiz City Park.
3. Icon are encouraged to wear attire that:
o Reflects Pride themes
o Matches the arc’s design and message
o Demonstrates confidence and creativity
