2026 National Women’s Month Celebration
Province of Quirino

The Zonta Club of Quirino proudly participated in the recently concluded 2026 Provincial Women’s Month Celebration organized by the Provincial Government of Quirino. The event gathered women leaders, government officials, and various sectors across the province in a meaningful celebration of women empowerment, gender equality, and inclusive development.

The program had engaging activities that showcased the talents, strength, and unity of Quirinian women. Participants from different municipalities actively took part in performances such as dance presentations and wellness activities, highlighting the vibrancy and diversity of women in the province.

A key highlight of the event was the participation of the Zonta Club of Quirino, where Atty. Chinita Vallejo, CPA, President-Elect, introduced the organization to the public. She shared the club’s mission and vision of building a better world for women and girls through service and advocacy. In her message, she expressed the club’s strong intention to collaborate with all municipalities in Quirino by supporting local initiatives and empowering communities, particularly through promoting local products and sustainable partnerships.

Further strengthening the advocacy for women’s rights, Atty. Cynthia Anne Marie H. Lopez-Tarun, CPA, Treasurer-Elect of the Zonta Club of Quirino, delivered a lecture on Republic Act No. 9262, also known as the Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act of 2004. Her discussion provided valuable insights on the forms of violence, legal remedies, and protection mechanisms available to women and their children, raising awareness and promoting legal empowerment among the attendees.

The event also recognized outstanding individuals and leaders who have significantly contributed to the advancement of women’s rights and welfare in the province. Awards were conferred to government officials and advocates who continue to champion gender equality and inclusive development.

Moreover, women from various sectors were given the opportunity to showcase their talents and creativity, further emphasizing the importance of inclusivity and participation in nation-building.

Overall, the celebration served as a powerful platform for collaboration, education, and empowerment. The Zonta Club of Quirino reaffirms its commitment to working hand in hand with government agencies, local communities, and stakeholders in advancing its mission of creating a just and equitable society for women and girls.

In line with the 2026 Provincial Women’s Month Celebration, the Zonta Club of Quirino presents a lecture on RA 9262 – Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act of 2004, to be delivered by Atty. Cynthia Lopez-Tarun, CPA.

This initiative seeks to empower women, families, and communities by equipping them with the knowledge of their rights and the legal remedies available under the law.
