𝑸𝑺𝑼-𝑪 𝑵𝒂𝒎𝒆𝒔 𝑻𝒐𝒑 𝑹𝒆𝒔𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒄𝒉 𝑷𝒂𝒑𝒆𝒓𝒔 𝒊𝒏 4𝒕𝒉 𝑺𝒕𝒖𝒅𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝑪𝒐𝒍𝒍𝒐𝒒𝒖𝒊𝒖𝒎

Quirino State University–Cabarroguis (QSU-C) Campus Research and Development (R&D) Office named the top three outstanding research papers in both the Technical and Non-Technical categories of the 4th Campus Student Research Colloquium held through paper review on May 21, 2026.

This year's entries showcased the academic depth and creativity of QSU students across various disciplines. The annual event highlighted groundbreaking student-led innovations aimed at addressing contemporary challenges, matching advanced mathematical modeling, technological automation, and the social sciences with practical community applications.

A total of 27 research entries were meticulously evaluated, comprising 21 studies in the Non-Technical Category and 6 competitive innovations in the Technical Category.

The reviewed papers were evaluated by a distinguished board of evaluators. The panel for the Technical Category was composed of Ms. Carmela G. Blando, Ms. Isabel F. Salvador, and Engr. Rey C. Naval, while the Non-Technical Category was reviewed by Dr. Dyanika P. Nolasco, Dr. Melidiossa V. Pagudpud, and Dr. Annalene Grace E. Co.

The top-ranking paper from each category will move forward to represent the campus at the upcoming University Student Research Colloquium.

The QSU-C community extends its warmest congratulations to the winning student researchers, their hardworking advisers, and their respective departments for raising the bar of academic excellence. The same extends to all participating students, whose dedication and valuable contributions continue to fuel the research culture of the campus.

A Student-Scout Leader from QSU Cabarroguis Makes History as the Quirinian’s First-Ever International Scout Youth Forum Delegate

Leadership, service, and youth empowerment continue to define the remarkable journey of ES Kyrth Justine Laitan as he becomes the first-ever Quirinian Scout to join an International Scout Youth Forum.

The Boy Scouts of the Philippines – Quirino Council proudly announced the official selection of ES Kyrth Justine Laitan as a member of the Philippine Contingent to the International Scout Youth Forum 2026 hosted by Scout Association of Hong Kong. The international gathering will bring together young Scout leaders from different countries under the theme, “Scouting it Out: Driving Change through Volunteering.”

Currently serving as the Chapter President of the Quirinian Students' Organization – Quirino State University Cabarroguis Chapter, Laitan has consistently demonstrated exemplary youth leadership both in Scouting and community engagement. His selection marks a historic milestone not only for the Quirino Council but also for the youth sector of the province.

Before achieving this international recognition, Laitan already established his name as one of the leading youth advocates in Quirino. He was the man behind the historic CABataan Eco Forum held last April 22–26, 2026, an initiative that gathered young leaders and advocates to promote environmental awareness, sustainability, and youth participation in ecological action. The forum became one of the most significant youth-led environmental initiatives in the province, empowering CABataang Quirinian to become active stewards of nature and community development.

Adding to his growing list of achievements, Laitan also made history as the first-ever Quirinian volunteer selected as a Philippine Youth Representative to the 2025 ASEAN Youth Volunteer Program in Malaysia held in July 2025. Representing both the province of Quirino and the Philippines, he engaged with fellow ASEAN youth leaders in volunteerism, cultural exchange, and sustainable development initiatives.

Through years of active involvement in the Boy Scouts of the Philippines, Laitan has exemplified the true essence of Scouting — leadership through service. From institutional volunteer works to national and international representation, his journey reflects the growing capability of young Quirinian leaders to make meaningful impact beyond borders.

The Quirinian Students' Organization – Quirino State University Cabarroguis Chapter expressed its pride and support for Laitan’s international endeavor, emphasizing that his achievement serves as an inspiration to fellow Scouts and youth leaders across the region.

As he prepares to represent the country in Hong Kong, Laitan carries with him not only the banner of Filipino Scouting but also the hopes and pride of the entire Quirino province. His participation in the International Scout Youth Forum 2026 is expected to open new opportunities for collaboration, cultural understanding, and youth-driven change through volunteerism.

Indeed, the journey of ES Kyrth Justine Laitan stands as proof that a committed Scout, grounded in service and leadership, can inspire communities and create impact that transcends boundaries.
