Alon and Araw Club

Alon and Araw Club Defending the Ocean from marine pollution while providing waves of opportunities for our community ๐ŸŒŠ Moreover, we create opportunities that will.

We envision a world where children of vulnerable coastal communities are free to dream and pursue a purposeful life that they will be proud of. We create waves of opportunities with the goal of creating a long-lasting impact on a specific group of disadvantaged children of our coastal community. We have initiated several programs and activities that enables the youth to explore their oceans of pos

sibilities. Our activities are centered around our four pillars which are: SPORTS, EDUCATION, ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION, and PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT.

๏ฟฝ๏ฟฝSPORTS - We have implemented a Surfboard Borrowing Program where children can access SURFING when they participate in our Environmental Protection Activities such as Coastal Cleanups and Recycling initiatives. We've also been facilitating daily beach football (soccer) games to keep the youth engaged and active in sports.

๏ฟฝ๏ฟฝEDUCATION - During the pandemic we organized Tutorial Sessions with volunteers who could give assistance to students who were struggling with the distance learning set-up. Right now, we're slowly developing our community learning center and have partnered with an international programming school, Algorithmics San Juan to teach Digital Literacy Classes to a handful of the children in our community.

๏ฟฝ๏ฟฝENVIRONMENT - We conduct regular coastal clean ups and ensure that the waste we collect are properly segregated in line with our partnership with a local tech startup phone application called TRASH CASH PH that incentivizes Plastic Recycling that allows users to earn points from plastic waste.

๏ฟฝ๏ฟฝPERSONAL DEVELOPMENT - we've conducted workshops that aim to address the children's low self esteem issues especially in relation to being bullied because of their dark colored skin. encourage them to dream bigger and aspire for a future with a better quality of life. OUR STORY
The story of Alon and Araw Club began in 2020 when its founders, Donn and Gabi, first moved to Cabangan and discovered a hidden surf spot within a beautiful beach. Unfortunately, its shores were constantly being littered with plastic washed up by the waves or left behind by visitors. It wasn't long before Donn and Gabi thought of a way to tackle the trash problem on the beach. They launched a simple surfboard exchange program which would allow the local kids to have free surf lessons and rentals if they participated in weekly beach cleanups. As the number of local kids grew, Donn and Gabi were inspired to formalize the program, hence the founding of Alon and Araw Club in March 2021. WHO WE ARE
Alon and Araw Club is a non-profit organization duly registered with the SEC and BIR. We are the only children's non-profit organization in the Philippines that creatively combines playโ€”such as surfing and soccerโ€”to reinforce important values and encourage responsibility within the family, society, and the environment.

Appreciation post for those who were loudly cheering for the Zambales Ocean Defenders from the sidelines all throughout the competition and beyond. This Silver Medal belongs as much to the people in the stands as it does to the athletes on the court!

A massive thank you to Coach Paulo for your tireless dedication, and to Maโ€™am Steph and Maโ€™am Rob of Cabangan National High Schoolโ€”youโ€™ve been the steady pillars for these girls since their very first District Meet. We also welcome Coach Mau, who joined us recently but has already shown so much love and support for the team.

โ€‹A special shoutout goes to Donn and Gabi, who have walked this path with our community since 2021.
Through every win and every heartbreak, youโ€™ve been thereโ€”even finding a way to gather our moms and community members from Cabangan and traveling them all the way to Aurora just so the girls could hear the sound of "home" while they played. We also want to recognize our youth leader, Dave, for his incredible dedication, commuting back home just to catch up with his classes while still making sure he was there for the team.

โ€‹To every parent, teacher, and volunteer who cheered until their voices gave out: thank you. From the first whistle to the historic podium finish, you were the heart of this journey. We are so much more than a sports team; we are a family. ๐Ÿ’™๐ŸŒŠ

The Province of Zambales has a new reason to celebrate!

For the first time in history, the ๐—ญ๐—ฎ๐—บ๐—ฏ๐—ฎ๐—น๐—ฒ๐˜€ ๐—ฆ๐—ฒ๐—ฐ๐—ผ๐—ป๐—ฑ๐—ฎ๐—ฟ๐˜† ๐—š๐—ถ๐—ฟ๐—น๐˜€ ๐—™๐˜‚๐˜๐˜€๐—ฎ๐—น ๐—ง๐—ฒ๐—ฎ๐—บ has secured a podium finish at the CLRAA Regional Meet. After an incredible, undefeated winning streak that carried them all the way through the tournament, the girls finished as the ๐—ง๐—ผ๐—ฝ ๐Ÿฎ ๐—ผ๐˜‚๐˜ ๐—ผ๐—ณ ๐Ÿญ๐Ÿณ teams across Central Luzon

While we faced a very talented and composed Olongapo City team in the Finals, our girls fought for every second on that court. We are coming home with our heads held high as ๐—ฆ๐—œ๐—Ÿ๐—ฉ๐—˜๐—ฅ ๐— ๐—˜๐——๐—”๐—Ÿ๐—œ๐—ฆ๐—ง๐—ฆโ€”a historic first for our province in this category!

We are immensely proud to represent Zambales with a homegrown, grassroots team from the shores of Cabangan. This is proof that with heart and discipline, our ๐™Š๐™˜๐™š๐™–๐™ฃ ๐˜ฟ๐™š๐™›๐™š๐™ฃ๐™™๐™š๐™ง๐™จ can stand among the very best.

This achievement would not be possible without the tireless work behind the scenes. A huge Thank You to Your unwavering belief in these girls and your commitment to their growthโ€”both as athletes and as individualsโ€”is the foundation of this success.

As we celebrate this win, we also have to say a bittersweet goodbye to our graduating players who played their final Regional match today.

To our Captain Jasmin Jasa, and our reliable leader Jhanet Magdayao: You twohave been the heart of this team. You didn't just play for a medal; you showed every young girl in Cabangan that itโ€™s possible to start from the sand and make it to the top.

Thank you for the years of hard work and for being the best role models we could ask for. We are so proud of you.
