On September 10, 2026, the House of Senate and House of Representatives convened in an Assembly at the COE Seminar Hall to formally open the 4th Congress of the University Student Government Legislative Branch.
University President Dr. Rhodora R. Jugo, together with the Dean of Student Affairs and Services Dr. Ma. Lourdes R. Quijano, shared inspiring messages with the members of the Legislative Branch, emphasizing the importance of responsible leadership and student participation in the affairs of the University.
As part of the program, Vice President for Administration, Business and Finance and Legal Officer Atty. Bembol DL. Castillo delivered a lecture titled โFrom Issues to Legislation: Transforming Student Issues Into Meaningful Policies.โ The discussion highlighted the responsibility of student legislators to listen to the concerns of the student body and translate these concerns into policies that are responsive and grounded in the realities of the life of the students.
With a quorum established, the first Regular Assembly of the 4th Congress thereafter commenced, marking the beginning of its legislative work through the initial hearing of bills presented and initiated by the Senate.
Guided by the theme โForged for the People,โ the 4th Congress begins its term with a clear commitment to place students at the center of legislation and public service. It is a Congress called not only to deliberate, but to listen, act, and create measures that respond to the needs of the students it represents.
