𝐅𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐈𝐧𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐫𝐲 𝐭𝐨 𝐈𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐭: 𝐒𝐀𝐋𝐈𝐊𝐒𝐈𝐂 𝐂𝐮𝐥𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐮𝐦 𝐒𝐡𝐨𝐰𝐜𝐚𝐬𝐞𝐬 𝐂𝐍𝐇𝐒 𝐏𝐚𝐩𝐞𝐫 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬
After investing efforts and resources in conducting a series of research discussions and trainings, the SALIKSIC (Strategies for Academic Learning and Innovation through Knowledge Sharing and Improving Creativity in Research) Extension Project finally reaped its harvest with the presentation of the completed research paper presentations by the researchers of Calamba National High School. In addition to the presentations, the culmination celebrates a transformative journey of empowering educators through research, collaboration, and innovation. Through the steadfast partnership between Caraga State University Cabadbaran City, the Department of Education–Cabadbaran City Division, and Calamba National High School, this initiative has successfully strengthened the research capabilities of teachers, enabling them to become active contributors to educational development and evidence-based decision-making. More importantly, the colloquium also serves as a platform for the dissemination of scholarly outputs produced by extension beneficiaries and highlights the meaningful impact of university-community engagement in addressing real educational challenges.
The research outputs showcased critical issues in education, including classroom management, pedagogical approaches under the MATATAG Framework, teaching strategies, reading comprehension, contextualized learning materials, and learner development. These studies stand as tangible outcomes of the SALIKSIC Extension Project and demonstrate the success of sustained mentoring, capacity-building, and academic support. More importantly, they reflect how extension programs can empower educators to transform classroom experiences into scholarly contributions that inform practice, improve learning outcomes, and strengthen the quality of education within their respective schools and communities. The research presentations served as powerful evidence that when educators are given the right opportunities and guidance, they can generate knowledge that directly benefits their learners and institutions.
Adding depth and inspiration to this significant event were the distinguished plenary speakers who shared valuable insights on the evolving research landscape. Dr. Jeffrey T. Dellosa, through his presentation “From Inquiry to Impact: Bridging the Gap Between Research and Innovation,” emphasized the importance of translating research findings into innovations that create meaningful change. Dr. Miraluna L. Herrera, in her talk “Reimagining the Research Frontier in the Age of AI,” challenged participants to embrace emerging technologies while maintaining academic rigor and ethical responsibility. Meanwhile, Dr. Imelda N. Sabornido, through “Current Landscape and Future Directions of Research in the Department of Education,” provided a comprehensive perspective on how educational research can continue to respond to the evolving needs of learners, schools, and communities. Together, these presentations inspired participants to view research not only as a scholarly endeavor but also as a catalyst for innovation, educational improvement, and societal development.
As the team celebrates this milestone, heartfelt gratitude is extended to the officials and leaders of Caraga State University and the Department of Education–Cabadbaran City Division, as well as the faculty mentors, school heads, partners, and extension beneficiaries whose dedication and unwavering support made this endeavor possible. The true success of SALIKSIC is not measured solely by the research papers presented but by the empowered teachers, strengthened partnerships, and culture of research that it has cultivated. As this extension project reaches its culmination, it leaves behind a lasting legacy—a community of educators equipped with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to continue generating evidence-based solutions, advancing educational innovation, and creating a meaningful impact long after the program has ended. Through this enduring partnership between CSU and DepEd, the seeds of research, innovation, and collaboration have been planted, and their impact will continue to grow in classrooms, schools, and communities for years to come.
