SKIMBOARDING Clinic and Certification Program: Skills Development, Livelihood, and Coastal Tourism Promotion
This event was organized by the Department of Tourism Region IX, in partnership with the Municipal Tourism Office of Buug, CENRO-Imelda, and PDIA, this initiative also marked the creation of the Buug Skimboarding Association—strengthening the foundation for a sustainable and community-driven skimboarding culture.
An unforgettable experience where passion for skimboarding meets purpose and community empowerment. This event was more than just learning how to ride the waves—it was a journey of growth, discipline, and connection. Through engaging sessions and hands-on training, participants were given the opportunity to learn, build confidence, and explore the potential of skimboarding—not only as a sport but also as a source of livelihood and a way to promote coastal tourism.
It was truly inspiring to witness how this initiative brought people together—youth, local leaders, and professionals—all united by one goal: to uplift the community while preserving the beauty of the coastal environment. Every lesson, every fall, and every glide across the shore became a reminder that progress takes courage and persistence.
The establishment of the Buug Skimboarding Association stands as a testament to this shared vision—ensuring that the skills, values, and opportunities gained from this program will continue to grow and benefit the community for years to come.
Grateful for the opportunity to be part of something meaningful—learning new skills, gaining valuable insights, and creating memories with amazing people. This experience is a powerful reminder that with the right mindset and support, simple passions can evolve into impactful movements for change.
