The Institute for Policy Solutions and Innovation proudly presents to the Urian Community its fifteen Priority Legislative Advocacies for the Second Semester of Service Year 2025โ€“2026.

Mandated to advance policy recommendations for a more responsive and effective student government, the Institute has been actively engaging student government stakeholders since its operationalization during the first semester to pursue the enactment of meaningful legislation. Through the Student Legislative Leadership Development (SLED) Program of the Student Court, in partnership with the Student Senate, the Institute identified key measures to ensure the full implementation of the 2024 Constitution. Alongside this, the Institute also developed policy directions aimed at strengthening student justice, promoting good student governance, and advancing student advocacy.

Anchored on these four thrusts, the Institute was granted leave by the Student Court, through A.M. 252602019-SSC, to advance its fifteen Priority Legislative Advocacies. Since the conclusion of SLED last semester, the Institute has worked closely with the Student Senate by submitting proposed measures, participating in committee deliberations, recommending refinements and innovations to existing proposals, and co-developing legislation that reflects the evolving needs of the student body.

At present, three of these priority measures have been approved by the Student Senate and are pending transmittal for presidential action, while several others remain under active deliberation in the student legislature.

The Institute reaffirms its commitment to collaborative policymaking with student government instrumentalities, stakeholders, and the broader student body in advancing meaningful and responsive legislation. In the remaining months of the semester, the Institute commits to intensifying its efforts in pursuit of a stronger, more accountable, and responsive student government.
