Caraga State University (CSU) in collaboration with the Philippine National Volunteer Service Coordinating Agency (PNVSCA) invites you to the 2024 National Volunteer Month Webinar, with the theme “𝗖𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝗔𝗱𝗮𝗽𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗘𝗻𝘃𝗶𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗩𝗼𝗹𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴”, this 23rd of December 2024, via Zoom Teleconferencing at 9:00AM - 12:00NN.

The initiative is deemed necessary to reach wider audiences of volunteers and institutions from the national and local governments, private companies, the academe, media, NGOs/CSOs and other sectors of the Philippines. Additionally, it aims to accommodate groups and individuals who may lack opportunities or means to celebrate NVM within their respective communities. Moreover, it aims to capacitate and raise awareness of the participants in the different aspects of volunteering in the Philippines.

Environmental volunteering empowers individuals and group to contribute directly to resilience-building initiatives such as reforestation, disaster preparedness, sustainable practices, and public awareness campaigns. Volunteers serve as catalysts for change, bridging the gap between policies and grassroots action.

Do you have the passion to serve and help in accordance with safety and response? Then be one of our growing active responders on campus! The CSU NSRC Emergency Response Team is now open to accept applications to be part of the team. We are opening and extending our arms to those students who want to engage actively in emergency situations. The team also gives opportunities to those students who are capable of handling emergency situations and humbly know how to interact with possible patients. The primary requirements for membership acceptance are the credentials listed below.

Backgrounds related to DRRM related activities:
Membership Form (From DRRM Office)
Basic Life Support Training
Standard First Aid Training
Mass Casualty Incident Management
Covid-19 Enhance Procedures Training or:
Other DRRM related trainings or activities

For submissions and clarifications of applications, you can visit the CSU DRRM Office located on the second floor, Farm Mech Building, at the back of the CSU New Admin Building. The person in charge of your application will be Ms. Marvil Rose A. Borja, the NSRC-ERT Internal Secretary. The deadline for the submission of applications will be on November 20, 2024 (Wednesday) 12:00NN.

𝗟𝗜𝗞𝗛𝗔 𝗦𝘂𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘁 2024: 𝗗𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗖𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗔𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗜𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱

On October 29, 2024, members of the CSU NSRC, ERT Officers/Members, and student volunteers from the CSU - Caraga Environmental Advocates Society (CEAS) and the BS Social Work program served as the backbone of the second day of the LIKHA Summit Sub-conference: 1st Regional Climate Change Action & Innovation Forum 2024. This impactful event brought together champions of environmental sustainability and resilience to address climate change through innovative, community-centered solutions.

A major milestone of the summit was the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signing between the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA), the Philippine National Volunteer Service Coordinating Agency (PNVSCA), and Caraga State University (CSU). This agreement enables CSU to actively promote volunteerism, creating a powerful pathway for students to engage in and lead essential community initiatives.

Through this MOA, Caraga State University is committed to empowering the next generation of leaders who are proactive, resilient, and driven by a deep sense of responsibility. The NSRC will continue to embody the spirit of leadership and unity in action, reminding us that true change is rooted in collaboration and a shared commitment to a sustainable future.
