Mula Harambee tungo sa Bayanihan: Panawagan sa Pagbubuklod, Paghihilom at Sama-samang Pagkilos ng Social Workers para sa Bayan.

Sa pagharap natin sa patuloy na hamon ng lipunan, mas kailangan natin ngayon ang isang hanay ng mga social workers na nagkakaisa, nagtutulungan, at kumikilos nang may iisang puso para sa kapakanan ng mga nasa laylayan.

Mula sa diwa ng Harambee na nangangahulugang “paghila nang sama-sama” hanggang sa ating sariling Bayanihan, nawa’y patuloy nating palakasin ang ugnayan sa isa’t isa. Sapagkat ang tunay na pagbabago ay hindi nakakamit ng iilan lamang, kundi ng isang komunidad ng mga social workers na handang maglingkod, makinig, maghilom, at kumilos kasama ang mga taong ating pinagsisilbihan.

Sa bawat bata, nakatatanda, pamilya, at komunidad na nangangailangan ng suporta, tayo ang nagiging tulay ng pag-asa. Ngunit mas magiging makabuluhan ang ating serbisyo kung tayo ay nagkakaisa sa layunin, nagkakapit-bisig sa pagkilos, at sama-samang bumubuo ng mas makatarungan at makataong lipunan.

Ngayong Filipino Social Workers’ Day, ipagpatuloy natin ang panawagan: magkaisa, maghilom, at kumilos para sa bayan.

Harambee. Bayanihan. Para sa kapwa, para sa bayan.

The Philippine Association of Social Workers, Inc. (PASWI) - Butuan City Chapter extends its heartfelt appreciation to the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga for the continued partnership in advancing the social work profession and nurturing the next generation of social workers.

Through meaningful celebration of the Filipino Social Workers’ Day Celebration 2026, we continue to bridge the gap between the academe and the realities of social work practice. The Fireside Chat served as a space where students from Caraga State University gained valuable insights from practitioners who embody the heart of public service, community empowerment, and social transformation.

Anchored on the theme, “Mula Harambee tungo sa Bayanihan: Panawagan sa Pagbubuklod, Paghihilom, at Sama-samang Pagkilos ng Social Workers para sa Bayan,” this celebration reminds us that social work thrives through unity, compassion, and collective action.

PASWI Butuan City Chapter Joins the Post Evaluation Conference and 2026 Planning Workshop in Davao City

The Philippine Association of Social Workers, Inc. (PASWI) Butuan City Chapter actively participated in the Post Evaluation Conference and 2026 Planning Workshop held on January 17, 2026, at the CSWDO Conference Room, Magallanes Street, Davao City. The activity was spearheaded by the PASWI Mindanao Cluster and gathered chapter representatives from across Mindanao to reflect on accomplishments, address challenges, and collaboratively chart plans for the year 2026.

The conference formally opened with a prayer followed by the Philippine National Anthem and the PASWI Hymn through audio-visual presentations. A recognition of participants set the tone for unity and shared purpose, after which meaningful updates and messages were delivered by Ms. Sharon C. Quiatchon, PASWI Mindanao Treasurer, and Ms. Farida T. Mangcaan, National Board of Directors member, who provided important national-level updates and guidance.

The second part of the program focused on the rationale and objectives of the activity, presented by Ms. Liwayway A. Caligdong, Coordinator of PASWI Mindanao. This was followed by chapter reporting, where representatives from various city and provincial chapters; including Butuan City, shared their accomplishments, best practices, and challenges for the year. These reports fostered transparency, mutual learning, and strengthened inter-chapter collaboration.

The participation of the PASWI Butuan City Chapter in this significant gathering underscores its commitment to organizational growth, professional development, and collective action in advancing the social work profession. Insights gained from the conference will greatly contribute to strengthening chapter initiatives and ensuring a more responsive and impactful PASWI in 2026 and beyond.
