"The more clubs you organize, the more projects you bring to life." These inspiring words from Past District Governor Tony Veneracion (RY 2009–2010) deeply resonated with the dedicated members of the Rotary Club of Downtown Butuan. As the club’s membership rapidly expanded, t

hen-President Maria Theresa M. Salise, recognizing the growing potential for greater service, envisioned the establishment of a new chapter. Alongside then-President-Elect Merceditha P. Poculan, they spearheaded the formation of what would become the Rotary Club of Midtown Butuan. Named in honor of its Sister Club, Rotary Club of Midtown Cubao, RC Midtown Butuan was chartered on November 1, 2010 with 32 dynamic charter members—professionals from diverse fields including law, finance, education, healthcare, government, business, and engineering. United by a shared commitment to “Service Above Self,” these founding members laid a strong foundation of purposeful action and collaborative spirit. Now celebrating its 14th year, RC Midtown Butuan stands tall as a reflection of its unwavering dedication to the Rotary Foundation and the core values of Rotary International. Throughout the years, the club has consistently earned accolades from both District 3860 and Rotary International for its excellence in service. Guided by Rotary’s 7 Areas of Focus—Peace and Conflict Resolution, Disease Prevention and Treatment, Water and Sanitation, Maternal and Child Health, Basic Education and Literacy, Economic and Community Development, and Environmental Sustainability—RCMB has implemented high-impact initiatives that continue to uplift lives and transform communities. With each year, RCMB’s passion for service has only grown stronger. The induction of 12 new members in July 2024 is a testament to its vibrant leadership, forward-thinking mindset, and inclusive spirit. These new members bring fresh energy and innovation, ensuring the club’s continued relevance and reach in today’s ever-evolving world. As we look toward the future, the Rotary Club of Midtown Butuan remains firmly committed to its mission—to create lasting change in our communities and around the world. With a solid foundation, professional excellence, and a heart for service, RCMB continues to soar to even greater heights—a beacon of hope, action, and meaningful change.

Pitching to international judges by day, bringing down the house by night.

Day 1 of DISCON 2026 at NUSTAR Cebu was an absolute movie. From Sec. Marissa Yee representing the CARAGA Region with unmatched "Garbo" (pride) during the Bridge to Business program, to celebrating massive community milestones at the District Awards.

But if you know Midtown Butuan, you know we also bring the energy to the Welcome Party and Rotarians Got Talent.

Watch until the end to see how District 3860 really celebrates!

POV: When community service meets main character energy.

We are absolutely bursting with pride watching our very own Teresita “TakTak” Muriel Si and Rosalyn "Sally" Cortel take center stage.

Not only are they powerhouse members of the Rotary Club of Midtown Butuan, but they are also stepping up to serve as District Leaders and Committee Chairs for the entire District 3860!

Day 2 of DISCON Cebu 2026 kicked off bright and early. By 7:30 AM, our Club President Myra Joseal Moreno together with the club presidents of Areas 3E and 3F were already suited up, flags raised, and ready to represent!

It is all about balance—celebrating our culture one night and diving deep into strategy and leadership the next morning.

We are so proud to see the Midtown Butuan flag flying high here in Cebu!

While most people were winding down for the night, the grind was just beginning for us.

About last night...

It was late, way past the standard "9 to 5," but we are not standard people. We are Uniting for Good.

The leaders from Area 3E and 3F worked overtime to deliver on a promise. We officially turned over 5 wheelchairs to our partners at the Tactical Operations Group 10 (TOG10) in Bancasi, Butuan City.

Why? Because mobility means freedom, and we believe in creating Lasting Impact, even if it means losing a little sleep to get the job done!

Look at these photos—this is what Service Above Self actually looks like at 10 PM.

Thank you to Former Secretary of National Defense Delfin Negrilo Lorenzana who was truly a big help to
Make C-130 fly to Butuan.

Real impact doesn't have a curfew. 🌙💪

The leaders of Area 3E and 3F are always ready to serve, no matter the hour! We were on the ground late at TOG 10 Bancasi for the highly anticipated arrival of the wheelchairs for the "Walk with Faith" project.

Coordinating logistics like this takes massive teamwork, but knowing that many lives in our community are about to be changed makes every late night completely worth it.

Massive shoutout to everyone who showed up in their End Polio Now gear to get the job done! This is what Uniting for Good looks like in action. 🤝✨

Cabadbaran City, ADN

Last Sunday, our leaders hit the road to Cabadbaran City for a crucial Area Coordination Meeting hosted by the amazing Assistant Governor Lanie Milan!

With the new Rotary Year officially launching on July 1, we are in our final month of full-speed hustle. Leaders from across Area 3E and Area 3F came together to align our goals, brainstorm, and make sure we finish this year strong while preparing to hit the ground running for the next.

Who says changing the world can't happen over a great cup of coffee? We are busy Uniting for Good!
