We are gathering 60 youth leaders across Agusan del Norte, Agusan del Sur, Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur, and Dinagat Islands, including Butuan City for an intensive 3-Day, 2-Night fully-funded learning and policy convergence in Butuan City!

INTERNSHIP ALERT! 🌱

The Department of Agriculture – Agricultural Training Institute (DA-ATI) is now accepting applications for Youth Interns and Partners under the 2026 Mentoring and Attracting Youth in Agribusiness (MAYA) Internship Program!

Choose your track:

● Entrepreneurship Track – Partner with top-tier agri-enterprises
and gain the skills to build your own venture.
● Employment Track – Experience hands-on learning within
agriculture-related agencies.

This six-month internship program will capacitate the youth through mentorship, orientation, basic skills training, and 20 weeks of on-site internship. Interns will be equipped with technical knowledge, soft skills, and real-world exposure in agriculture-related offices and enterprises — all under the guidance of professionals.

LEADING BY EXAMPLE | Behind every harvest, there’s a story.
And behind every young farmer who chooses to stay, grow, and lead—there’s a man that believed in them first.

In Butuan City, John Wevin Tingas, an Agricultural Extension Worker (AEW) did not just teach farming — he stepped into a field of service where growing people mattered just as much as growing food. Through tending his own garden, he showed that real leaders lead by doing.

From 16 members grew into a community of over 300 young farmers today. With his guidance, the 4-H Club became a place to learn, feel belong, and grow both in the field and in life. He introduced innovative techniques like hydroponics, built learning farms, and mentored young farmers like Joel Vincent Cabanacan — once an aspiring grower, now feeding communities.

“LEADING BY EXAMPLE” is a tribute to John Wevin Tingas, an outstanding young AEW, and to the youth who found purpose through his guidance. Let us watch his story and be inspired by how farming can nurture both crops and people. 🌱🧑‍🌾
