OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT
EARTHQUAKE AND MASS CASUALTY RESPONSE SIMULATION
THIS IS A SCHEDULED DRILL. THIS IS NOT A REAL EMERGENCY
The College of Criminal Justice Education (CCJE) FSUU, will conduct a joint Earthquake and Mass Casualty Response Simulation as part of the courses CRIM 306 โ Dispute Resolution and Incidents/Crisis Management and BPED 203 โ Emergency Preparedness and Response Management.
๐
Date: Saturday, October 17, 2026
๐ Time: 7:00 AM โ 10:00 AM
๐ Venue: CBS Grounds, Father Saturnino Urios University, Butuan City
About the Activity
The simulation will allow students to apply emergency preparedness, incident command, and crisis management concepts in a realistic field setting. Participants will practice earthquake response protocols, evacuation, triage, casualty handling, and scene control. The activity supports the University's disaster preparedness culture, in line with RA 10121 (Philippine Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Act) and DepEd/CHED directives on school safety.
What You May See
During the activity, you may see students role-playing as victims, first responders, and rescuers. You may also see stretchers, first aid equipment, and simulated injuries. All of these are part of the exercise. Participants will be supervised by their course instructors and assisted by University resource persons and the Red Cross Youth (RCY).
A Reminder to Everyone
Because the simulation will look realistic, we ask the public, students, and community members to:
๐Know that the event is a planned training exercise and that no actual earthquake, accident, or casualty has occurred.
๐Do not share photos, videos, or posts of the simulation as real news or without context.
๐Check for updates only from the official page of the College of Criminal Justice Education and the University's official channels.
๐Verify before you share. Spreading false information can cause unnecessary panic and distress to families and the community.
If you have questions about the activity, please message this page directly.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
