FSUU Teams Shine at DOSTโs 2026 National Innovation Day Hackathon in Caraga โจ
Father Saturnino Urios University demonstrated its commitment to innovation and excellence as its student and faculty teams emerged as winners during the DOSTโs 2026 National Innovation Day in Caraga โ LUNSAD Programโs DRRM and Circular Economy Hackathon Solutions Pitching Competition.
The event, held on April 21, 2026, at the HERO Learning Commons Building of Caraga State University, gathered State Universities and College and Higher Education Institutions across the region to showcase innovative solutions addressing Disaster Risk Reduction and Management and Circular Economy challenges.
FSUU proudly secured 1st Place in the Student Category through the startup team RESQ, composed of students from the Computer Studies Program and Business Administration Program. The team was awarded a cash prize of โฑ20,000.

The RESQ team impressed the judges with their innovative and practical solution designed to enhance disaster response and resilience, highlighting the power of interdisciplinary collaboration between technology and business.
In the Professional Category, FSUU also made its mark by winning 3rd Place through the startup team AGAPAY SMS, earning a prize of โฑ10,000.

AGAPAY SMS presented a solution that leverages communication technologies to support communities, particularly in times of crisis, reinforcing the importance of accessible and reliable systems in disaster management.

FSUUโs strong performance reflects the universityโs growing role in nurturing startup ecosystems, promoting interdisciplinary learning, and contributing to regional development through technology-driven solutions.
