The Institute of Integrated Electrical Engineers of the Philippines, Inc. (IIEE) Butuanโ€“Agusan del Norte Chapter, in partnership with the IIEE United Arab Emirates Chapter, Caraga State Universityโ€“Cabadbaran Campus (CSUCC), and the Department of Educationโ€“Schools Division of Agusan del Norte through the Tubay District, successfully implemented the IIEE Oplan Dagitab Brigada Eskwela 2026 in five public schools in Tubay, Agusan del Norte.

The project covered Santa Ana Elementary School, Tagmamarkay Elementary School, Victory Elementary School, Doรฑa Telesfora Elementary School, and Tubay National High School, providing targeted electrical safety interventions to help create safer, more reliable, and more functional learning environments for students, teachers, and school personnel.

The Oplan Dagitab Brigada Eskwela Project reflects IIEEโ€™s continuing commitment to translating professional electrical engineering expertise into meaningful community service. Through electrical assessment, minor repair and rehabilitation, wiring improvements, installation and replacement of selected electrical devices, inspection, testing, and electrical safety advocacy, the initiative addressed priority electrical concerns identified within the participating schools.

The project was implemented in collaboration with the CSUCC Department of Electrical Engineering (DEE), with Project EEskwela serving as the Departmentโ€™s corresponding extension initiative supporting technical coordination, engineering participation, documentation, and community extension activities.

Prior to implementation, the project partners coordinated with DepEd and the beneficiary schools to identify priority electrical concerns, validate the required interventions, prepare the necessary materials, and organize the deployment of licensed electrical practitioners, engineering personnel, and volunteers.

During the Brigada Eskwela activities, technical teams conducted electrical wiring repair and rehabilitation, improvements to selected lighting systems, installation and replacement of switches and convenience outlets, correction of accessible electrical connections, installation or replacement of selected circuit-protection components, and other minor electrical safety works within the approved project scope.

A documented project deployment was conducted at Tagmamarkay Elementary School on June 2, 2026, forming part of the broader implementation across the five beneficiary schools during June 2026.

The completed project benefited 2,244 learners and school personnel, improved electrical conditions in 18 school buildings, and covered 89 classrooms and offices with electrical safety interventions. The completed works enhanced the safety, reliability, and functionality of selected lighting systems, outlets, wiring, and circuit-protection components across the participating schools.

The project was made possible through the collective contributions of the participating institutions. The IIEE United Arab Emirates Chapter provided electrical materials and supplies, while the IIEE Butuanโ€“Agusan del Norte Chapter supported local implementation through the mobilization of licensed electrical practitioners, technical personnel, transportation, logistics, and other deployment requirements.

The initiative was further strengthened by the technical, institutional, and community support of CSUCC, DepEdโ€“Schools Division of Agusan del Norte, Tubay District, and the beneficiary schools.

Beyond the physical electrical improvements, the project promoted electrical safety awareness, proper hazard reporting, responsible use of school electrical facilities, and the importance of avoiding unauthorized electrical modifications. Electrical deficiencies requiring interventions beyond the approved Brigada Eskwela scope were also documented to provide the schools and DepEd with a basis for future corrective action.

The successful implementation of the IIEE Oplan Dagitab Brigada Eskwela 2026 demonstrates the IIEE Butuanโ€“Agusan del Norte Chapterโ€™s continuing commitment to electrical safety, professional service, volunteerism, and community development.

Through the collective efforts of IIEE, CSUCC, DepEd, and the beneficiary school communities, the project transformed the spirit of Brigada Eskwela into a professionally guided electrical safety intervention that directly benefited thousands of learners, teachers, and school personnel.

The IIEE Butuanโ€“Agusan del Norte Chapter, together with the IIEE United Arab Emirates Chapter, CSUCC Department of Electrical Engineering, DepEdโ€“Schools Division of Agusan del Norte, Tubay District, and beneficiary schools, remains committed to strengthening partnerships that translate electrical engineering expertise into meaningful and lasting benefits for Filipino communities.

Through Oplan Dagitab Brigada Eskwela, IIEE continues to uphold the electrical engineering professionโ€™s commitment to technical excellence, electrical safety, social responsibility, volunteerism, and service to the community.
