𝗜𝗜𝗘𝗘 𝗕𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗻–𝗔𝗴𝘂𝘀𝗮𝗻 𝗱𝗲𝗹 𝗡𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗲 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗦𝘂𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗳𝘂𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝘀 “𝗪𝗮𝘁𝘁’𝘀 𝗨𝗽!” 𝗪𝗲𝗯𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗿 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 - 𝗠𝗮𝘆 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲

The Integrated Institute of Electrical Engineers of the Philippines, Inc. – Butuan–Agusan del Norte Chapter successfully conducted its “Watt’s Up! Webinar Series – May 2026” on May 31, 2026, via Zoom. Carrying the theme “Design Smart. Work Safe. Power Forward,” the activity gathered electrical engineering professionals, practitioners, and stakeholders for a continuing professional development session focused on technical competence, workplace safety, and industry-relevant engineering practices.

The webinar officially opened with remarks from Engr. Erickson A. Tacda, VP-Technical of the IIEE Butuan–Agusan del Norte Chapter. His message emphasized the importance of continuous learning and professional growth among electrical engineers, especially in a rapidly evolving industry where safety, innovation, and technical excellence remain essential.

A message of support was also delivered by Dr. Rojien V. Morcilla, P*E, Regional Governor of IIEE Northern Mindanao, who commended the chapter for organizing programs that strengthen the capabilities of electrical engineering professionals and promote active participation in continuing professional development.

The technical sessions featured three resource speakers who shared their expertise on relevant and practical topics. Engr. Arnel B. Alipao discussed “Electrical Design Analysis Made Easy with Excel,” highlighting how engineers can use familiar digital tools to simplify design computations and improve efficiency in electrical analysis. Engr. Amorlino L. Cudillo delivered a session on “Workplace Safety and Awareness,” emphasizing the importance of safety culture, compliance, and best practices in engineering workplaces. Meanwhile, Engr. Ian C. Guday presented “Turbo Alternator Maintenance, Testing, and Commissioning,” providing valuable insights into the proper handling, operation, and reliability of critical power generation equipment.

The webinar also included open-forum sessions, allowing participants to engage with the speakers, ask questions, and share practical field experiences. In addition, Engr. Samuel G. Adlao of Saitech Power Corporation delivered a product presentation, contributing further industry perspective to the program.

The activity concluded with closing remarks from Engr. Amorlino L. Cudillo, Chapter President of the IIEE Butuan–Agusan del Norte Chapter. He expressed appreciation to the speakers, participants, sponsors, and organizers whose support contributed to the success of the professional development activity.

With 2.5 CPD points granted to participants, the “Watt’s Up! Webinar Series” reaffirmed the chapter’s commitment to advancing professional knowledge, promoting safety awareness, and empowering electrical engineers to remain competent, responsible, and future-ready.

Through initiatives such as this, the IIEE Butuan–Agusan del Norte Chapter continues to uphold its mission of fostering excellence, innovation, and lifelong learning within the electrical engineering profession.

𝗜𝗜𝗘𝗘 𝗕𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗻–𝗔𝗴𝘂𝘀𝗮𝗻 𝗗𝗲𝗹 𝗡𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗜𝗜𝗘𝗘-𝗨𝗔𝗘 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘇𝗲 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗩𝗶𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝗠𝗢𝗨 𝗦𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴

The IIEE Butuan–Agusan del Norte Chapter formally strengthened its commitment to professional collaboration, service, and community engagement through the virtual signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with the Institute of Integrated Electrical Engineers of the Philippines, Inc. – United Arab Emirates Chapter (IIEE-UAE) on April 11, 2026, via Zoom.

The ceremonial signing marked the official launch of a partnership between the two IIEE chapters, opening opportunities for collaboration across outreach initiatives, professional development, technical activities, and joint community-centered programs. The partnership also reflects the shared commitment of both chapters to promote knowledge exchange, strengthen chapter-to-chapter cooperation, and expand meaningful service initiatives that will benefit not only electrical practitioners but also partner schools and communities.

Representing IIEE-UAE during the signing was Engr. Jerson N. Maglunob, Chapter President, while IIEE Butuan–Agusan del Norte Chapter was represented by Engr. Amorlino L. Cudillo, Chapter President. The ceremony was also graced by the presence of Engr. Rojien V. Morcilla, IIEE Region VIII Region Governor, and Engr. Gamajel Apilado, Foreign Regional Governor, who both delivered messages highlighting the value of unity, collaboration, and shared leadership among IIEE chapters.

The signed agreement establishes a framework for cooperation between the two chapters in several key initiatives. These include organizing outreach activities in schools and communities in support of Brigada Eskwela Projects, conducting assessment and training activities under the Bantay Kuryente Project, and implementing Bigay Liwanag initiatives for underserved and rural communities. The partnership likewise opens opportunities for joint technical webinars or international conferences, as well as the exchange of best practices that may further enhance the programs and services of both chapters.

During the virtual program, chapter and regional leaders also shared messages of support, underscoring the importance of building stronger ties across chapters despite geographical distance. Their presence during the activity reflected the strong support for initiatives that foster cooperation, promote professional growth, and extend meaningful service to communities in need.

More than a ceremonial signing, the MOU symbolizes a shared commitment between IIEE-UAE and the IIEE Butuan–Agusan del Norte Chapter to work together to advance projects that create impact both within the profession and in the broader community. The agreement serves as a statement of mutual intent to pursue a reciprocal, mutually beneficial partnership anchored in service, technical excellence, and sustained collaboration.

Through this partnership, IIEE-UAE and IIEE Butuan–Agusan del Norte Chapter reaffirm their dedication to building stronger institutional linkages, creating more opportunities for learning and engagement, and delivering programs that empower electrical practitioners and uplift communities. The virtual MOU signing likewise underscores how collaboration across regions can serve as a meaningful platform for innovation, service, and professional solidarity.

The IIEE-United Arab Emirates Chapter conducted a virtual coordination meeting with the IIEE-Butuan Agusan del Norte Chapter and the CSUCC Energy and Power Research and Innovation Center (CEPRIC), together with the Department of Electrical Engineering, on April 10, 2026, from 9:00 PM to 10:30 PM PH Time via Zoom Meeting. The meeting was undertaken to strengthen institutional collaboration, present the current partnership initiatives between the IIEE-Butuan Agusan del Norte Chapter and CEPRIC, discuss ongoing research and extension undertakings, and finalize the terms and agreements for the proposed Memorandum of Understanding among the two chapters and Caraga State University.

The Institute of Integrated Electrical Engineers of the Philippines - IIEE Butuan-Agusan Del Norte Chapter stands in full support of the Bureau of Fire Protection in its mandate to prevent fires and safeguard lives and property.

Today, March 1, 2026, the Kick-Off Ceremony for Fire Prevention Month in the region was successfully held at the grounds of Caraga State University Cabadbaran Campus. Partners and stakeholders gathered in unity—strengthening collaboration and reaffirming our shared commitment to preparedness, vigilance, and public safety.

Joining the event is our very own President, Engr. Amorlino Cudillo Tatay Amor ably represented by our Vice President for Technical Affairs, Engr. Erickson Tacda together with our Immediate Past President, Engr. Arnel Alipao and some CSC (student) Council Members.



As electrical practitioners, we play a vital role in advancing this mandate. We do so by ensuring that all electrical installations strictly comply with the Philippine Electrical Code, and by actively promoting fire safety awareness in our workplaces, institutions, and communities.

With the Provincial Infrastructure Audit Team, the IIEE Butuan–Agusan del Norte Chapter, represented by its Chapter President, participated in the inspection of the Municipal Gym and Hall of LGU RTR, Agusan del Norte last October 24, 2025.

The audit was attended by Municipal Engineers across the province, together with representatives from IIEE, BFP, and DepEd — reinforcing our collective commitment to ensuring safe and compliant public infrastructures for the community.
