🌱 WE’RE HIRING: PROJECT MANAGER 🌱
SILIPETEN Project | Aplaya Collaborative Center for Conservation Inc.

Aplaya Collaborative Center for Conservation Inc. is looking for a Project Manager to lead the SILIPETEN Project, an initiative restoring Indigenous food crop systems with the Indigenous and Local community in Busuanga, Palawan, to strengthen climate resilience, food security, and biodiversity conservation.

📍 Duty Station: Barangay Salvacion, Busuanga, Palawan (with regular field travel to Barangay Cheey and partner communities)
🗓️ Duration: 5 months, renewable subject to performance and funding
👤 Reports to: Executive Director, Aplaya Collaborative Center for Conservation Inc.

What you’ll do:
✅ Lead project planning, implementation, monitoring, and reporting
✅ Supervise project staff and coordinate with community and LGU partners
✅ Ensure activities respect Indigenous governance and FPIC processes
✅ Support budget ex*****on and prepare technical/financial reports

What we’re looking for:
🎓 Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Community Development, Social Sciences, Agriculture, or related field
💼 2–5 years managing community-based, environmental, or Indigenous Peoples projects
🤝 Strong facilitation, leadership, and multi-stakeholder coordination skills
🗣️ Fluent in English and Filipino; knowledge of Cuyonon or Tagbanwa is a plus

📌 High preference will be given to qualified applicants who are residents of the Calamianes (Busuanga, Coron, Culion, Linapacan).

USBONG: A Transdisciplinary Forum on Nature-based Solutions 2026 | Day 3

Day 3 marks a powerful closing of the USBONG NbS Forum 2026 — where ideas turn into action, and collaboration becomes impact.

From CLIMBS’ Weather Protect Insurance innovation for climate resilience, to rethinking the business case for Nature-based Solutions, the conversations highlighted how finance, science, and communities can work together for lasting change. The day also spotlighted private sector partnerships in mangrove restoration, showing how collective action can regenerate ecosystems while supporting livelihoods.

The Gallery Walk of NbS in Action brought stories to life on the ground, while the workshop and plenary on localizing NbS criteria and indicators grounded everything in the realities of communities and local contexts.

As the forum concludes, the ripples of change continue — carried forward by shared commitment, stronger partnerships, and a deeper understanding that nature-based solutions are not just ideas, but pathways for resilience.

🌿 ATM | Aplaya Collaborative Board Member, SB MikMik Basca, is participating in the Angat Bayi: Feminist Leaders Fellowship for Nature-based Solutions (AB FLF4NbS) at Savoy Hotel Manila for the Foundational Feminist Leadership Training from June 8–12, 2026.

Bilang isa sa mga napiling Fellows mula sa iba't ibang panig ng bansa, kinikilala ang kanyang dedikasyon sa pagsusulong ng kababaihang liderato, pagkakapantay-pantay ng kasarian, at pangangalaga sa kalikasan. Ang fellowship ay naglalayong palakasin ang feminist leadership at itaguyod ang gender-responsive Nature-based Solutions para sa mas inklusibo at makatarungang climate action.

Ipinapatupad ang programa sa ilalim ng Philippines–Canada Partnership on Nature-based Solutions (PCP4NbS) ng Forest Foundation Philippines, katuwang ang Bayi Inc.
