An interdisciplinary artist and creative social action strategist, he is known for his art and activism in environmental and social justice. Trained as an environmental journalist at Silliman University, he has been actively involved in local and international arts and cultural initiatives. He is a recipient of the Prince Claus Fund and an alumnus of Salzburg Global , among other honors.

Thea Sulangi is a cultural worker and one of the owner-managers behind Haboean Weaving Studio and Café. She was the registrar of Lopez Museum and Library for six years, and has worked with Ateneo Art Gallery, Rizal Library, CCP, and Metrobank. Thea is currently interested in the preservation of traditional fabrics, with a special emphasis on pina, and works alongside her aunt as apprentice.

Gelo Zarsuelo is a 23-year-old q***r painter based in Kalibo, Aklan, whose work delves into the politics of individual bodies, intimacy, and non-binary relationships. His paintings merge bold and muted acrylic paint to emphasize repressed emotions and tell stories of struggle through subtle postures and expressions.

Zarsuelo has showcased his work in various art spaces including Pulse Gallery Phloenchit in Bangkok, Museo de Iloilo, Art in the Park, Qube Gallery, and AltroMondo Creative Space, among others.

He has undergone a two-month art residency at Pulse Gallery Phaya Thai in Bangkok, Thailand. He has curated exhibitions, including "A Red Rag to a Bull" under the Iloilo Pride Team and GIAGI’s booth in Art Tienda:Pride! in Art District, Bacolod City. He was featured in the first volume of the 'Iloilo Art Review' by the Iloilo Critics Circle, and was a fellow at the Upskilling Workshop on Performance and Visual Arts Curation by the Cultural Center of the Philippines (2024). He recently had his first solo exhibition, ‘Bodies That Matter’, in Anima Art Space in Quezon City this October to November of this year 2024.

Rhussel Saubon, "Run to Inspire"

"Where are all the runners in Aklan? A question that's lingered in our minds as lone runners, a longing for community—we were sure we weren’t alone. And sure enough, we weren’t."

A full-time dad, part-time runner, and 'Chief Pakulo Officer' of Run Aklan, Rhuss made Kalibo his home after several visits during Ati Atihan, embracing a laid-back, grounded lifestyle for his family. A snapshot photographer since forever, he discovered his love for running during the pandemic and has since inspired other runners in Aklan to pursue community and self-improvement through movement.
