In a historic feat that elevated the honor of the entire community, Burauen Community College made history this morning September 1, 2026, with the official launching of the Buraburon International Multidisciplinary Journal becoming the first among local universities and colleges throughout Eastern Visayas Region to achieve such a landmark publication.
Opening the program, College Administrator Dr. Jett C. Quebec paused to give due recognition to the distinguished guests whose presence alone elevated the occasion, honoring the presence of Regions most esteemed academic leaders โ individuals whose names shape policy, research, and extension across the region.
From the Commission on Higher Education, Engr. Nelly L. Labrada, Education Supervisor II, the CHED official who oversees and upholds the standards of higher education institutions in the region.
Along with the respected state universities โ Dr. Sheldon Ives Agaton, Vice President for Research Innovation and Extension of Eastern Visayas State University (EVSU), a driving force behind EVSU's research innovations; Dr. Jonas Villas, Vice President for Research, Innovation, Extension and Internationalization of Leyte Normal University (LNU), a leader in advancing teacher education and research; and Dr. Santiago Penฬa jr. of Visayas State University (VSU), Vice President for Research , Extension and Innovation.
Also, the BCC Research & Extension team, Faculty, and Central Student Councils presence turned the college launch into a regional convergence โ a testament that BCC's vision is recognized and respected by the highest echelons of the academe.
His message underscored BCC's commitment to fostering a culture of research that is both inclusive and impactful giving journal publishers a chance to shared their academic works.

Meanwhile, Dr. Dominador Pagliawan introduced the dedicated people behind the journal team whose expertise and dedication made the publication possible. He then laid out the journal's clear vision, which aims to become a reputable international refereed journal that champions multidisciplinary research, promotes knowledge generation, and contributes to local and global development.

He also outlined the journal's editorial policies, peer-review process, publication frequency, and its aspiration to be indexed and recognized in wider academic offline and online circles.
In an interview with Dr. Dominador Pagliawan, he emphasized the purpose of the project that itโs actually created to give opportunities to journal publishers.
