𝗔𝗗𝗦𝗦𝗨 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗸𝘀 𝗘𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗵 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁-𝗟𝗲𝗱 𝗔𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗦𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆

Agusan del Sur State University (ADSSU) marked Earth Day through a series of student-led activities that highlighted the importance of environmental responsibility and collective action. Bringing together students, faculty, and staff, the celebration reflected the University’s continued commitment to sustainability and community engagement.

Among the key initiatives was a campus-wide clean-up drive, where volunteers worked hand in hand to maintain the cleanliness of the surroundings. Students also participated in a symbolic “hug-a-tree” activity, emphasizing the vital role of trees in sustaining life and encouraging a deeper connection with nature. To further spread awareness, Earth Day-themed stickers carrying messages on conservation and climate action were distributed across the campus.

Through these simple yet meaningful efforts, ADSSU reinforces its alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Climate Action (SDG 13), Life on Land (SDG 15), and Responsible Consumption and Production (SDG 12). The celebration serves as a reminder that sustainability begins with everyday actions—and that through shared responsibility, lasting impact can be achieved.

We are proud to celebrate a remarkable milestone!

Ms. Charlize Karen Grace A. Jimenez of the Kab-ot Youth Organization (KYO), Founding Member, Young Professional, and Trainer of Trainers, has been selected as one of the 21 outstanding women and LGBTQIA+ leaders, victim-survivors, and allies for the ? Ambassadors Program out of 256 applicants across Mindanao!

This meaningful initiative, led by Our Stories, Our Voices in partnership with GIZ Civil Peace Service, highlights the power of lived experiences as catalysts for leadership and change. Through this program, Charlize engage in empowerment workshops, collaborative learning, and digital training using the ATINGI Digital Enquirer Kit on Gender-Based Violence, equipping her with tools to address pressing social, cultural, and digital challenges.

Her journey stands as a testament to KYO’s commitment to youth empowerment, gender justice, and transformative leadership. As she joins fellow changemakers, may her voice continue to inspire, uplift, and spark action toward a safer and more inclusive community.
