After the discussion, participants actively engaged in the interactive game “Bahay, Baboy, Bagyo,” adding energy and excitement to the session. This was followed by a Question and Answer portion, where the chosen “Taya” responded to questions related to the lecture. Through this fun and participatory activity, participants were able to recall key points, share insights, and deepen their understanding of drug awareness and crime prevention while strengthening active youth involvement.

𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐈𝐈𝐈 | 𝐃𝐫𝐮𝐠 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐋𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞

The third discussion during the afternoon session, based on the Drug Awareness Lecture, delivered vital information on the realities of illegal drugs, their types, effects, and the serious consequences of drug abuse on individuals, families, and communities. The session clearly explained what drugs and addiction are, the most abused and emerging drugs in the Philippines, and how drug use greatly contributes to crime and other social problems.

The lecture also highlighted the national drug situation, the common modus operandi of drug syndicates, and the strict provisions of RA 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002), emphasizing that ignorance of the law is never an excuse and that awareness is a key tool in prevention.

Overall, the session served as a strong reminder that drug abuse prevention is a shared responsibility, encouraging the youth to stay informed, uphold moral values, resist peer pressure, and actively participate in building a safe, drug-free, and crime-free community.

𝗣𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗜𝗜 | 𝗗𝗿𝘂𝗴 𝗔𝗯𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 & 𝗖𝗿𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻

The discussion led by PMSG Ronaldo G. Corro, PNCO of the Police Community Affairs Division, provided a comprehensive and eye-opening talk on drug abuse, crime prevention, and the vital role of the community especially the youth, in maintaining peace and order. Through his lecture, participants gained a deeper understanding of how crime develops, emphasizing that desire, capability, and opportunity are the key elements that lead to criminal acts.

PMSG Corro explained the importance of the Criminal Justice System (CJS) and how its major components- law enforcement, prosecution, courts, corrections, and the mobilized community, work together to prevent, control, and respond to crime. He highlighted that crime prevention should always be prioritized, stressing that proactive measures are more effective than actions taken after crimes have already been committed.

A significant part of the discussion focused on drug abuse, its causes, common signs, and its devastating physical, psychological, social, and mental effects. Participants were educated about the major drugs of abuse, such as shabu and ma*****na, the profile of drug users, and how peer pressure, family problems, lack of parental guidance, and weak personal values often lead individuals into substance abuse.

The talk also emphasized the importance of youth involvement through initiatives like the Student Crime Prevention Committee (SCPC), encouraging students to take an active role in promoting a safe, secure, and drug-free school environment. Overall, the session served as a strong reminder that awareness, discipline, moral values, and community cooperation are essential in preventing crime and protecting the future of the youth.

The first part of our program set a meaningful and reflective tone as Pastor Felmar Guray delivered an inspiring Moral Values Talk that reminded everyone of the power of attitude and character in shaping one’s future. Through his message, participants were encouraged to look inward and recognize that values are not just learned, they are lived daily and reflected through our choices, actions, and mindset.

Pastor Guray emphasized that values shape our identity and guide the direction of our lives. By learning to guard our hearts, we develop self-discipline, respect, responsibility, integrity, and faith with purpose. These core values serve as a strong foundation in navigating life’s challenges, influencing how we respond to situations, treat others, and make decisions even in difficult circumstances.

One of the key takeaways from the session was the importance of doing what is right even when no one is watching. True character is revealed in moments of honesty, accountability, and consistency. Through this talk, participants were reminded that living with strong moral values builds a life with clear direction, purpose, and integrity, shaping not only who we are today but who we become tomorrow.
