Sa araw na ito, ating ginugunita ang kabayanihan ng mga Pilipinong nag-alay ng buhay para sa kalayaan ng ating bayan. Ang kanilang tapang at sakripisyo ay nagsisilbing ilaw na patuloy na gumagabay sa atin sa gitna ng mga hamon ng kasalukuyan.

Nawa’y magsilbi itong paalala na ang tunay na kagitingan ay hindi lamang matatagpuan sa nakaraan, kundi sa bawat Pilipinong handang tumindig para sa tama. Sa ating mga simpleng gawa ng malasakit, pagkakaisa, at paglilingkod, patuloy nating isinasabuhay ang diwa ng kabayanihan para sa kinabukasan ng bayan.

In a world that often chooses hate, may we choose kindness. In moments of pain, may we choose to heal. And in times of doubt, may we remember that love was proven on the cross.

Today, we celebrate the quiet strength and the loud courage of women. Sa bawat babae na patuloy na bumabangon kahit pagod na, sa bawat pangarap na ipinaglalaban kahit mahirap ang daan, kayo ang tunay na larawan ng tapang.

Women are more than what the world sometimes expects them to be. Hindi lang tayo anak, kapatid, kaibigan, o ina. Tayo ay mga pangarap na naglalakad, mga kwentong patuloy na sinusulat, at mga pusong marunong magmahal kahit nasasaktan.

Sa bawat babae na piniling maging matapang kahit may takot, sa bawat babaeng patuloy na nangangarap kahit maraming nagsasabing “hindi kaya,” sa bawat babaeng lumalaban hindi lang para sa sarili kundi para sa iba, salamat.

Salamat sa lakas na hindi laging nakikita. Salamat sa malasakit na patuloy na nagbibigay liwanag sa mundong minsan ay magulo. Salamat sa pagiging inspirasyon sa bawat batang babae na natututong mangarap nang mas malaki.

May your voice always be heard. May your dreams never be limited. At nawa’y patuloy mong matuklasan kung gaano ka kalakas, katalino, at kahalaga.
