Mainit nating tinanggap ang PMFTC Inc. sa isang makabuluhang araw ng pagbabahagi at pagmamahal para sa ating mga Go Bikers at ALWAR Volunteers sa ating bayan.

Sa pamamagitan ng ating pakikipagtulungan sa FPJ Panday Bayanihan at PMFTC Inc., naihatid natin ang mga food packs para sa mga masisipag nating mga volunteers bilang simpleng pasasalamat at pagkilala sa kanilang patuloy na pagbabahagi ng kanilang oras, lakas, at malasakit sa paglilingkod sa ating mga kababayan anuman ang panahong dumaan.

FROM HACIENDA, HATAKE CONTINUES TO GROW! 🌾💚

Where the HATAKE journey began, the seeds of community action continue to grow. Through our Community Tour in Brgy. Hacienda, we were reminded that building sustainable communities starts with engaging our youth, empowering volunteers, and bringing people together through a shared advocacy.

From one farm to more communities, we continue to plant not just crops, but hope, cooperation, and a greener future for Bugallon. 🌱

🌊💙 One of the Most Meaningful Stops of Our HATAKE Community Tour

Our HATAKE Community Tour brought us to Brgy. Pantal—and this one felt different.

Pantal is a low-lying, flood-prone community, and until now, many families are still dealing with the effects of flooding. The water remains high. 🌊

And yet, in the middle of all this, we saw something we always hope to find in our communities:
children who are curious, willing to learn, and ready to be inspired. ❤️

We hope that, even for a short while, we were able to help them understand more about disaster preparedness, resilience, caring for one another, and the importance of knowing what to do when disasters happen.

A huge thank you to our youth leaders and volunteers who stepped up and helped make this community tour possible. And to our amazing Child Monitors, who guided and accompanied our young participants all the way to Magsaysay Elementary School—thank you for taking care of them. 🫶

This wasn't just another stop on the tour.
This was one of the journeys that we will remember.
Because sometimes, the most meaningful work happens not in perfect conditions, but right in the middle of a community that is still struggling.

We came to share knowledge.

But we also came to listen, to see, and to understand.
And hopefully, somewhere along the way, we helped a child become a little more prepared, a little more aware, and a little more hopeful. 🌱

To our young people: keep learning. Keep helping. Keep showing up.

🇯🇵🥞 FROM JAPAN TO PORTIC & POLONG: WE COOKED, WE SHARED, WE PLANTED! 🌱

HATAKE Campus Tour continues—and this time, we brought the experience to Portic Integrated School and Polong National High and Elementary School! 🇵🇭🇯🇵

But this wasn’t just another school visit.

We cooked. We learned. We shared. And most importantly—we planted another seed for food security. 🌱

One of the highlights of the day was when our Japanese friends personally taught our participants how to make Okonomiyaki—a popular Japanese savory pancake made by mixing ingredients such as cabbage, flour and egg, with other ingredients depending on what is available.

And there’s a deeper story behind this food.

Okonomiyaki became especially meaningful in Japan during difficult periods when people had to make do with whatever ingredients were available. It is often associated with postwar Japan, when food was scarce and communities creatively combined simple, accessible ingredients into something filling and delicious.

In many ways, Okonomiyaki is a story of resilience.

Kapag limitado ang resources, we learn to innovate. Kapag may kakulangan, we learn to make something out of what we have.

And yesterday, our Japanese friends didn't just tell us that story.

They cooked it for us—and shared it with our participants. 🥞❤️

But perhaps the biggest win of the day happened after the talks.

Because inspired by what they saw and experienced at HATAKE…

🌱 HATAKE SA PAARALAN is officially taking root.

Our volunteers from the schools committed to establish their own school-based HATAKE—and not simply for compliance or for a one-time activity.

They committed to:
🌱 Plant it.
💧 Grow it.
🤲 Take care of it.
🌾 Harvest it.
❤️ And keep it going.

Why?

Because they believe in the advocacy.

And that, for us, is another victory.

We won food security again. 🇵🇭🌱

Because every young person who decides to plant is one more person who understands where food comes from.

Every school that grows its own vegetables becomes one more community that becomes a little more resilient.

And every volunteer who commits to HATAKE becomes part of a bigger movement.

They made our cultural exchange even more memorable through their songs and dances.

Insight Band actually started as our campaign volunteer band. I mentored these young people, challenged them, pushed them to their limits—and watched them grow.

From volunteers who simply wanted to help…
to one of the best young bands I know.
And yes, they're now accepting gigs and guest performances. 🎤🔥

FROM A COMMUNITY FARM TO A MOVEMENT FOR CHANGE: HATAKE CONNECTS BUGALLON AND JAPAN! 🇵🇭🇯🇵🌱

What if the youth and the elderly could work hand in hand, not only to grow food, but also to grow stronger, more resilient communities?

What started as a simple idea is now opening doors to new opportunities, meaningful partnerships, and international collaboration.

We were honored to welcome our Japanese friends, led by Dothiro Project, to Bugallon, Pangasinan, for the HATAKE Campus & Community Tour. More than just a visit, it was an opportunity to exchange knowledge, share experiences, and discover how a community-led initiative can inspire change beyond borders.

Through HATAKE, we shared the story behind our movement—from the challenges of sustaining the Go Bike Project and the realities of the energy crisis to our growing realization that food security is not just about having food on the table; it is about building communities that can stand strong in times of crisis.

Inspired by the Japanese concept of bringing generations together through farming, HATAKE promotes a simple yet powerful principle: when the youth and the elderly work together, farming becomes more than an activity. It becomes a platform for intergenerational learning, environmental stewardship, leadership development, and community empowerment.

Our Japanese guests experienced this vision firsthand. They learned how to start a HATAKE, engaged with our volunteers, explored our programs, and listened to the stories of people who continue to prove that meaningful change can begin with simple, collective action.

We also visited Umanday Central School and Tococ Elementary School, where we connected with young learners and witnessed the importance of introducing environmental awareness, community participation, and a culture of service at an early age.

We were likewise grateful for the opportunity to pay a courtesy visit to Mayor William K. Dy, sharing the growing connection between Bugallon and Japan and the possibilities that international collaboration can bring to our local communities.

Our heartfelt thanks to PINA BEAUTY and ABU for providing bags for our participants and helping make this meaningful experience even more memorable.
At HATAKE, we believe that the challenges we face—from food insecurity and environmental degradation to the need for stronger community participation—cannot be solved by one person or one generation alone. They require collective action, shared knowledge, and a willingness to learn from one another.

This is what we continue to build: a community where young people are empowered to lead, where the wisdom of our elders is valued, and where every seed planted represents hope for a more sustainable future.
From Bugallon to Japan, and from Japan back to our communities, HATAKE is proving that local action can create connections, inspire collaboration, and contribute to a greater movement for change.

What began as a simple idea is becoming a shared vision—one that reminds us that nation-building can start in our own communities, with our own hands, and with the courage to work together.

We may have started with a small piece of land, but our vision has always been bigger than a farm.
This is HATAKE. This is community empowerment. This is how we grow change—one seed, one community, and one generation at a time. 🌱

🌱✨Matagumpay nating naisagawa ang Completion Ceremonies ng Project LAWA at BINHI sa HATAKE Farms sa Brgy. Hacienda, Bugallon, Pangasinan noong Hulyo 4, 2026.

Ang presensya ng ating mahal na Mayor Hon. William K. Dy at Congressman Brian Poe Llamanzares ng FPJ Panday Bayanihan Partylist, kasama ang ating mga Sangguniang Bayan Members, mga pinuno ng iba't ibang tanggapan ng pamahalaan, partner agencies, at stakeholders, ay isang napakalaking mensahe para sa aming mga volunteers at partner-beneficiaries—na ang maliliit na pangarap ng komunidad ay naririnig, pinapakinggan, at sinusuportahan.

Noong nagsimula ang HATAKE, simple lamang ang aming pangarap—magtanim ng pagkain, magtanim ng pag-asa, at magtanim ng mga lider ng komunidad. Naniniwala kami na sa panahon ng mataas na presyo ng bilihin, climate change, at mga krisis na kinakaharap ng mundo, ang kakayahang magpatubo ng sariling pagkain ay hindi na lamang isang hobby—ito ay isang mahalagang life skill at hakbang tungo sa disaster resilience at food security.

Hindi naging madali ang paglalakbay na ito.
Maraming beses kaming kumatok sa iba't ibang opisina. Maraming liham ang isinulat. Maraming pinto ang binuksan. Maraming pag-uusap ang sinimulan. At sa bawat taong naniwala sa aming adhikain, unti-unting nabuo ang isang napakalaking bayanihan.

Mula sa isang simpleng community farm, naging isang kilusan ang HATAKE.

Sa ngalan ng buong HATAKE Family, taos-puso kaming nagpapasalamat sa Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD Region I) sa pangunguna ni Regional Director Marie Angela S. Gopalan, CESO III, sa pagbibigay ng pagkakataon sa pamamagitan ng Project LAWA at BINHI. Ang programang ito ay hindi lamang nagbigay ng Cash-for-Training at Cash-for-Work—nagbigay ito ng dignidad, pag-asa, kaalaman, at panibagong direksyon sa maraming pamilya.

Maraming salamat din sa Local Government Unit of Bugallon sa pangunguna ni Mayor William K. Dy, na agad naniwala sa proyekto at pinangunahan ang pagbuo ng Technical Working Group upang maisakatuparan ito. Salamat sa ating MSWDO, MDRRMO, Municipal Agriculture Office, MENRO, Municipal Engineering Office, mga Punong Barangay, at lahat ng opisina ng ating LGU na nagbahagi ng oras, tao, kagamitan, pondo, at serbisyo upang maging matagumpay ang proyektong ito.

Lubos din ang aming pasasalamat kay Congressman Brian Poe Llamanzares at sa FPJ Panday Bayanihan Partylist sa kanilang walang sawang suporta sa aming mga adbokasiya. Maraming salamat sa paniniwala ninyo sa grassroots initiatives tulad ng HATAKE at sa pagpapatunay na kapag pinapalakas ang komunidad, mas lumalakas ang buong bayan.

Maraming salamat din sa Department of Agriculture (DA), Agricultural Training Institute (ATI-RTC 1), Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR), Department of Health, Central Pangasinan Hospital and Medical Center, DAR, PhilHealth, ating mga pribadong indibidwal, donors, civil society organizations, volunteers, at lahat ng mga taong naging bahagi ng paglalakbay na ito. Halos lahat ng liham na aming ipinadala ay sinagot ninyo ng malasakit at pagkilos. Habang kami ay nagbi-bridge ng mga partnership, kayo naman ang naging tulay upang mas maraming pangarap ang maisakatuparan

Ngunit ang pinakamalaking pasasalamat ay para sa ating 200 partner-beneficiaries at sa unang tao at pamilya na naniwala sa konsepto ng HATAKE, ang atin pong butihing kababayan na si PMAJ SIR RENATO M. MENDOZA JR. at si Tita MARI LYN MENDOZA and family… Maraming salamat po.

Salamat sa inyong tiwala. Sa inyong mga pawis. Sa inyong sipag. Sa inyong pagtitiyaga. Sa inyong mga ngiti kahit pagod. Sa inyong pagtanggap sa isa't isa bilang isang pamilya.

Sa loob lamang ng ilang linggo, hindi lang mga gulay ang tumubo. Tumubo ang pagkakaibigan. Tumubo ang tiwala. Tumubo ang bagong pag-asa. Tumubo ang paniniwala na kaya pa pala nating baguhin ang ating komunidad kapag sama-sama.

At dito hindi nagtatapos ang ating kwento.

Ang HATAKE ay hindi isang 20-day project.

Isa lamang itong simula.

Patuloy nating aalagaan ang mga tanim. Patuloy nating bubuhayin ang mga lawa. Patuloy nating bubuksan ang HATAKE bilang tahanan ng kabataan, senior citizens, kababaihan, mga pamilya, at lahat ng gustong maging bahagi ng pagbabago.

Nawa'y hindi natin makalimutan ang pakiramdam na naramdaman natin sa HATAKE—na kapag nagsama-sama ang pamahalaan, pribadong sektor, mga organisasyon, at ordinaryong mamamayan, wala talagang imposibleng mangyari.

Marami pa tayong itatanim.
Marami pa tayong aalagaan.
Marami pa tayong buhay na mababago.

Sama-sama nating itanim ang pag-asa. Sama-sama nating anihin ang mas matatag, mas masagana, at mas makataong Bugallon. 🌱💚

Project LAWA at BINHI matagumpay na sisimulan sa HATAKE farms sa Bugallon! 💛💙💚✨🌱

Naging matagumpay ang launching program ng HATAKE na suportado na ngayon ng Project Lawa at Binhi ng DSWD dito sa bayan ng Bugallon sa pangunguna ng ating butihing Mayor William Dy at iba pang mga local leaders at partner agencies para sa pagpapalakas ng community farms na parte ng mga programa ng ating mga GO BIKErs at ALWAR volunteers para sa mas matatag, malusog, at panatag na Pilipinas!

Sa mga susunod na araw ay dalawang-daan ang inaasahang tutulong upang mapalaki at mapalakas ang mga HATAKE Farms na matatagpuan sa Brgy. Hacienda at Brgy. Buenlag, Bugallon, Pangasinan.

Matagumpay ding na unveil ang RONDA CARE APP na isang mobile application na ginawa ng mga researchers ng Pangasinan State University para sa pagpapalakas ng Ronda Kalusugan Program ng ating mga youth volunteers.

Ang Project LAWA at BINHI ng DSWD ay isang programang nagbibigay ng Cash-for-Training at Cash-for-Work sa mga mahihirap at vulnerable na pamilya upang mapalakas ang kanilang kakayahan sa produksyon ng pagkain, pangangalaga sa kapaligiran, at pag-angkop sa epekto ng climate change. Layunin nitong mapabuti ang food security, kabuhayan, at katatagan ng mga komunidad sa pamamagitan ng mga proyektong pang-agrikultura, pangisdaan, at pamamahala ng tubig.

Taos-puso rin kaming nagpapasalamat sa aming mga katuwang at stakeholders na naging bahagi ng tagumpay ng proyektong ito:

• Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) sa pangunguna ni Regional Director Marie Angela S. Gopalan, CESO III para sa pagkakataon at suporta sa pamamagitan ng Project LAWA at BINHI Program;
• Department of Agriculture (DA) sa kanilang patuloy na suporta sa pagsusulong ng makabago at napapanatiling agrikultura;
• Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO) Bugallon, sa pangunguna ni OIC Archie Castillo, sa kanilang walang sawang paggabay at pakikipagtulungan para sa matagumpay na pagpapatupad ng programa;
• Municipal Agriculture Office (MAO) Bugallon, sa pangunguna ni Mr. Christopher Ballesteros para po sa pagpapagamit ng Bugallon Demo Farm at Hatake West site;
• Municipal Environment Natural Resources Office (MENRO) Bugallon, sa pangunguna ni Ma’am Joy Luwalhati para sa kanilang taos-pusong suporta;
• Kay Mari Lyn Mendoza para sa pagpapahiram ng lupa ng Hatake Main;
• Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council Office (Mdrrmo Bugallon), sa pangunguna ni Ma’am Lea Navato para sa kanilang mahalagang suporta sa pagsusulong ng kahandaan, katatagan, at mga programang nakatuon sa pag-angkop sa epekto ng pagbabago ng klima;
• FPJ Panday Bayanihan sa pangunguna ni Cong. Brian Poe para sa logistical support;
• Pina Beauty Philippines sa kanilang ipinakitang suporta at malasakit sa aming mga adbokasiya;
• Abu sa kanilang pakikiisa sa mga programang nagtataguyod ng kaunlaran at paglilingkod sa komunidad;
• Sa ating mga barangay officials, volunteers, beneficiaries, at iba pang indibidwal at organisasyong naglaan ng oras, lakas, at suporta upang maisakatuparan ang HATAKE Farm.

Ang tagumpay na ito ay bunga ng pagkakaisa ng pamahalaan, pribadong sektor, mga organisasyon, at mamamayan na may iisang layunin—ang bumuo ng isang mas matatag, mas masagana, at mas luntiang komunidad.

Sama-sama nating itanim ang pag-asa, alagaan ang kalikasan, at anihin ang mas magandang kinabukasan para sa susunod na henerasyon. 🌱💚
