Rumples is Looking for His Forever Home 🏡🐾

Meet Rumples — the shelter’s self-appointed head of security and professional barker. 🐶📢

Rumples takes his job very seriously, especially when visitors, tour groups, or anyone new arrives at the shelter. After all, somebody has to make sure everyone knows they are guests! 😆

But behind that loud bark is a sweet, laid-back boy who simply enjoys beach walks, relaxing in the shade, and spending his days chilling with his favorite people. 💛🌴

He may be the shelter’s loudest greeter, but once he knows you, you’ll discover a loyal companion with a big heart and an even bigger personality. 🐾✨

He is:

🚨 HELP NEEDED FOR CARDO 🚨

Cardo was found on the side of the road in Banga, Aklan - his back legs paralyzed, his feet raw from dragging himself against the ground, and his spirit a little broken.

While many turn a blind eye, Milagros from Home of Paws chose to stop and help. She brought Cardo to the vet immediately so he could get urgent medical care. He was covered in lice, fleas, and ticks, severely emaciated, and battling infection. 🥺

Sadly, there is often no sponsor waiting for dogs like Cardo.

Thankfully, he was able to begin treatment right away, and we are so grateful to everyone who donated through our stories to help him. 🙏

However, there is still:

• Half of his ₱13,650 vet bill due
• ₱2,658 needed for medications and recovery support
• Ongoing food and sponsorship support needed

We are incredibly grateful to everyone who has donated so far and are asking our community for continued support to help Cardo heal and recover. 💛

Josh is truly one of the most special people to ever become part of BAARC 💛

He brings so much light, laughter, humor, and happiness into our group, and somehow always manages to make everyone feel connected and supported. One volunteer once called him “the glue” of our shelter team, and honestly… it’s true.

No matter what we need, Josh is always there with a wholehearted “no problem.” Whether it’s helping with rescues, caring for puppies, stepping in for animals in need, or simply showing up for our team, he does it all with kindness, enthusiasm, and such a genuine heart.

He has gone above and beyond for so many animals — from Pot Pot to tiny vulnerable puppies and countless others along the way. He cares deeply, and it shows in everything he does.

We also appreciate how much love and support he gives BAARC through his platform and community. With such a large following, he could choose to spend his energy anywhere, and we never take for granted that he chooses to use his voice to help animals in need.

Our pups love you so much, even Rumples 😜, and we are endlessly grateful for the joy and positivity you bring to our lives and this rescue. Happy Birthday — the animals, volunteers, and all of us at BAARC are lucky to have you 🐶✨

Happy Birthday to Darla — the woman who truly puts the “R” in BAARC 🐾

If you’ve ever messaged us about an injured stray, an abandoned puppy, or a cat in need, chances are we connected you with Darla. She is always willing to show up for animals in crisis — no matter how difficult the situation may be.

From rescues in the toughest conditions to helping animals many others would walk away from, Darla has a strength and determination that few people have. She has a huge heart for the forgotten and vulnerable animals of Boracay, and her passion for rescue is undeniable.

Beyond helping BAARC, Darla also volunteers with other rescue groups across the island including AARRC and Home of Paws, while also caring for many cats through Boracay Cats. Her dedication to helping animals reaches far and wide.

Thank you for all the ways you’ve helped animals in need and supported rescue efforts across our community over the years. We wish you a very Happy Birthday and many more lives saved 💛

Meet Pe**er — a sweet, playful boy with the cutest bunny hop that will steal your heart. ❤️🐰

He may be shy at first, but once he trusts you, he becomes loving, playful, and full of personality. He enjoys zoomies, playing with other dogs, and showing his goofy side. 🐶✨

He was once skinny and timid, but now he’s stronger, gaining confidence, and truly blossoming. 💛

We are sharing this as a courtesy post to help HomeofPaws Aklan raise funds for the dog in the photo, who underwent an emergency leg amputation surgery today. ‼️

The surgery was critical and could not wait, but unfortunately not enough funds were raised to cover the veterinary bill. 🥺🙏

A little update from our other location 🐾💛

We haven’t posted updates recently about our rescues at AARRC, but please know the animals there are doing well and receiving excellent care. From deworming and rounds of vaccines, to recovery, playtime, and finally feeling safe and loved — these sweet souls are getting their second chance. 🥹

Our final step is getting them spayed and neutered before they begin searching for their forever homes. ✨

Happy Birthday Emily 💛

Emily has truly been one of the BEST shelter volunteers of all time. Sadly, her time with us in Boracay was far too short, but even after moving away, she still remains such an important part of the BAARC family.

From cleaning, organizing, and sorting at the shelter, to loving our dogs from afar and helping keep sponsors updated with pupdates — she has always gone above and beyond.

She somehow managed to turn her OCD into a superpower for BAARC 🤣 and honestly, the shelter was never cleaner or more organized than when Emily was around.

Even though she and Scott have moved to Manila, they still continue supporting BAARC from afar. We miss them both so much.

Happy Birthday, Emily. We love and appreciate you more than words can say, and we hope your day is as wonderful as you are 💛🐾

Happy Birthday to our amazing Anj 💛

For the past two years, Anj has been such a huge part of the BAARC family. From leading our Saturday beach walks, to baths, cleaning the shelter, taking incredible photos, and loving our dogs like they’re her own — she always goes above and beyond every single visit.

She knows each dog’s personality inside and out, has been there for almost every event, and is truly one of the kindest people we’ve ever met. Our dogs adore her, and so do we.

We honestly can’t imagine BAARC without her. She has become such a core part of our team, and we are endlessly grateful for everything she does for our rescue, our dogs, and our community.

We hope you have the happiest birthday ever, Anj. You deserve all the love in the world. Sending huge love from all of us at BAARC — especially the doggies 🐾💛
