The Samoki SK Council proudly joined the students and personnel of Mountain Province State University (MPSU) in a tree planting activity at Sitio Fana-ao, Samoki, Bontoc, where 500 pine seedlings were planted by 103 committed volunteers.

This joint effort advances SDG 13: Climate Action, SDG 15: Life on Land, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, proving that meaningful change begins when communities work together toward a shared purpose.

The Samoki SK Council extends its deepest appreciation to MPSU faculty members Ms. Gallate, Ms. Chiweran, Ms. Atiwag, Ms. Nasungan, and Ms. Tingey for spearheading the initiative.

With every seedling planted, we strengthen not only our environment but also our collective resolve to protect the future of Mountain Province. 🌲💚

TREE PLANTING FOR A GREENER FUTURE

The Sangguniang Kabataan Chairperson Denis P. Kongoy joined the STS students of Mountain Province State University during their tree planting activity at Sitio Fana-ao, Samoki, where pine seedlings were planted.

This activity serves as a reminder that climate change is a pressing reality, and collective action is needed to address it. Planting trees is a simple yet impactful step toward protecting our environment, ensuring cleaner air, healthier ecosystems, and a more sustainable future for the next generations.

The SK Samoki encourages the youth and the community to take part in similar initiatives that promote environmental stewardship and resilience.

Samoki Youth Join 2-Day DRRM Skills Challenge of Bontoc LGU

The youth of Samoki proudly joined the 2-Day Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM) Skills Challenge organized by the Bontoc Local Government Unit through the Municipal DRRM Office.

After the Rescue March, participants were assigned to mixed teams, giving the Samoki youth the chance to showcase not only their skills but also leadership, camaraderie, and teamwork. They bonded with fellow delegates from Balbalan, Kalinga; La Trinidad, Benguet; Licuan-Baay, Abra; and Mountain Province General Comprehensive High School.

The challenging route took them from Faliling to Mount Fato, Mount Pokis View Deck, Teng-ab Pastoral Complex, the Provincial Plaza, and back to Eyeb. Along the way, they demonstrated crucial life-saving skills such as CPR, bandaging, basic rope techniques, splinting, rescue carries, quiz bee participation, patient packaging, and the bucket relay.

This experience not only tested their disaster response abilities but also strengthened bonds with youth from other provinces—proving that disaster preparedness is best achieved through unity, collaboration, and shared learning.

"joining forces for a cleaner tomorrow"
We're overwhelmed with gratitude for every participant who rolled up their sleeves, picked up a bag, and contributed to the transformation of our community. Your unwavering commitment to a cleaner environment is a testament to the power of collective action. Each piece of litter collected today was not just trash but a symbol of our shared responsibility towards a healthier planet.
The Samoki Barangay officials and Sk council in partnership with the MPSPC-NSTP group and 2nd MPPMFC conducted a clean-up drive at Samoki, Bontoc Mountain Province at Khefa Creek & pathways and Chico River along Samoki.
