๐Ÿฉธ 79 YEARS OF HUMANITY IN ACTION ๐Ÿฉธ

In celebration of the 79th Anniversary of the Philippine Red Cross, the Philippine Red Cross Mountain Province Chapter successfully conducted a Mobile Blood Donation Activity at Banguitan, Besao.
Guided by the call, โ€œMendonar as dara, tagowen di ib-a,โ€ this initiative reflects the unwavering commitment of the Red Cross and the community to save lives through voluntary blood donation.

With the support of the Rural Health Unit Besao and the Banguitan Barangay Local Government Unit, dedicated volunteers and generous donors came together to share the gift of lifeโ€”bringing hope to patients in need, especially during emergencies and critical situations.

A total of 30 voluntary blood donors (27 succesful, 2 deferral, and 1 QNS) generously shared their gift of life, embodying the true spirit of compassion and bayanihan.

The Philippine Red Cross Mountain Province Chapter extends its sincere appreciation to:
๐Ÿ”น Bontoc General Hospital staff for their invaluable technical and logistical support
๐Ÿ”น All voluntary blood donors for their selfless act of saving lives
๐Ÿ”น The Local Government Unit of Besao for providing meals and support to donors and volunteers
๐Ÿ”น MHO staff and DOH-HRH personnel for their dedication and service
๐Ÿ”น Banguitan Barangay Officials and Barangay Health Workers for their active participation and assistance

Through unity and shared commitment, this initiative reflects the enduring mission of the Red Crossโ€”to alleviate human suffering and uphold the dignity of life.

The successful culmination of the MABIGHASIK Class of 2026 Internship Program was marked by a meaningful and disciplined Graduation Run, participated in by 255 criminology interns. The activity commenced at 4:00 AM, symbolizing not only the end of their internship journey but also their readiness to serve with integrity and dedication.

Ensuring the safety and well-being of all participants, the Philippine Red Cross โ€“ Mountain Province Chapter played a vital role in the conduct of the event. Prior to the run, Red Cross personnel together with Provincial Medical and Dental Unit conducted blood pressure monitoring for all interns to assess fitness and prevent potential health risks. Throughout the activity together with the Bureau of Fire Protection and MPSU school of health and education personnel, aid stations were strategically positioned, providing immediate medical assistance and support when needed.

This proactive presence highlights the commitment to safety, preparedness, and humanitarian serviceโ€”core values upheld during the entire activity.

The Graduation Run served as a testament to the internsโ€™ endurance, discipline, and unity as they completed their required duty hours across key frontline agencies. More than just a physical activity, it stands as a symbol of their transition into future professionals dedicated to maintaining peace, order, and public safety.

Salute to the MABIGHASIK Class of 2026! ๐ŸŽ‰And thank you to all partner agencies and responders who ensured a safe and successful event.

On this solemn Maundy Thursday, we remember a night of humility, service, and boundless loveโ€”when bread was shared, and hearts were opened to sacrifice for others.

Just as that sacred table became a symbol of compassion and giving, the Philippine Red Cross continues its mission to serve those in needโ€”quietly, tirelessly, and selflessly.

This Holy Week, may we be reminded that true service begins with simple acts of kindness. Whether through lending a hand, giving blood, or supporting those in crisis, each act carries the power to save lives.

Be the reason someone finds hope today. Be part of the mission.

๐Ÿ’ง Celebrating World Water Day: Water and Gender ๐Ÿ’ง

โ€‹Earlier today, the Philippine Red Cross - Mountain Province Chapter joined the global community in celebrating World Water Day at Butigue National High School, Paracelis, Mountain Province.

โ€‹With the theme "Water and Gender," our Grades 7 and 11 students participated in an energetic Water Relay, followed by a meaningful session of sharing experiences and realizations.

โ€‹๐ŸŒŠ 3 Things We Need to Know About Water & Gender Equality:

โ€‹1๏ธโƒฃ The crisis affects everyoneโ€”but not equally. Where safe water and sanitation are missing, inequality flourishes. Women and girls often bear the brunt of the water crisis, and it is time to center them in our solutions.
2๏ธโƒฃ Women must shape the future of water. We need a transformative, rights-based approach where womenโ€™s voices, leadership, and agency are fully recognized to ensure water services meet everyone's needs.
3๏ธโƒฃ Where water flows, equality grows. When women and girls have an equal voice in water decisions, services become more inclusive, sustainable, and effective for the whole community.

โ€‹A huge congratulations to the winners of our Water Relay and to all participants for your insightful contributions.

โ€‹Special thanks to the School Head, Sir Russel R. De Joseph, for welcoming this activity to Butigue NHS, and a job well done to our dedicated personnel at the Paracelis Field Office for making this event a success.

This World Water Day, we unite around the theme

Our work at the Philippine Red Cross goes beyond emergency responseโ€”it is about building sustainable, resilient communities. The burden of water collection often limits opportunities for women and girls. By ensuring safe and equal access to water, we empower everyone to thrive.

Saving water is not just about today; itโ€™s about generations yet to come. At the PRC, we leverage a vital ecosystem to make this happen:

Together, we can create a future where clean water is a reality for all. Be part of the solution. Visit our official channels to learn how you can support our WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) programs.
