Islay Erika Bomogao is now the World’s no. 1 in the International Federation of Muay Thai Associations ranking for -45kg female elite athlete.

Just recently, Islay was also hailed as the First Filipina Muay Thai champion after beating Sarah Kwa, the Australia’s Muay Thai state champion, in a match held in Kenwick, Australia.

Igorota Conquers Global Stage at FIF World Championship!

Liza P. Docyogen, a bookstore manager and proud daughter of the Cordilleras etched her name in the international fitness scene by securing the 2nd Runner-Up title at the FIF World Championship 2024 in Singapore. This Igorota powerhouse proved that strength knows no bounds, captivating the world with her incredible physique and unwavering determination.

Since beginning her fitness journey in 2018, the 45-year-old has been a force to be reckoned with, accumulating an impressive collection of victories.

Hailing from Catengan Besao but raised in Mankayan, Docyogen, a single mother to Kynai and Cassler and a registered teacher, is an inspiration to her community and beyond. Her story is a living proof to the indomitable spirit of the Igorot people.

Congratulations Pasa-Kalye Group of Artists . The influence of Chinese culture is deeply woven into our Cordillera traditions. One striking example is the "gusi" – porcelain jars originally from China, now integral to our fermentation process for "tapuey." This cherished rice wine, crafted within the "gusi," holds a revered place in countless rituals and celebrations.

Manegdeg during the 2022 Dagyaw Open Government Town Hall Meeting today (Nov. 29), shared the experiences of farmers in the Cordillera who helped feed communities especially during the pandemic.
