The promising squad from Bontoc, Southern Leyte is ready to rise and represent. Team Bontoc Ballers Club 16U, a group of young and determined athletes, is set to showcase their heart, hustle, and passion for the game in the upcoming PBYBL x Grindnation March Madness Tournament.

Led by Coach Abel Pol Aguilar, this rising team carries the pride of Bontoc as they step onto the court to compete against some of the toughest grassroots basketball programs in Southern Leyte. With their dedication, discipline, and love for the game, these young ballers are eager to prove that they belong on the big stage 🙌🫡

𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞 | 𝗣𝗚𝗦𝗟 𝗕𝗥𝗔𝗖𝗘𝗦 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗧𝗦 𝗕𝗔𝗦𝗬𝗔𝗡𝗚, 𝗖𝗔𝗡𝗖𝗘𝗟𝗦 𝗖𝗟𝗔𝗦𝗦𝗘𝗦 𝗔𝗡𝗗 𝗪𝗢𝗥𝗞 𝗧𝗢𝗠𝗢𝗥𝗥𝗢𝗪

Pursuant to Executive Order No. 1 S. 2026, the provincial government of Southern Leyte declares the cancellation of all government work and classes - both public and private in all levels - tomorrow, February 6, in view of the possible adverse effects of Tropical Storm Basyang (TS Basyang) over the Visayas and Mindanao regions.

Citizens are encouraged to stay indoors during the onslaught of the storm and remain in touch with local authorities for possible evacuation protocols as the tropical depression approaches land. Governor Damian G. Mercado enjoins the people of Southern Leyte to seek information about TS Basyang from reputable news sites only.

Meanwhile, DILG Advisory No. 2 reports possible heavy downpour of rain over Eastern Visayas this afternoon to Friday afternoon (February 5-6), with an estimated 100-200mm of rain.

Hence, the provincial government of Southern Leyte and the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (PDRRMO) is at heightened alert for TS Basyang. However, Governor Mercado reassures Southern Leyteños that the provincial government is in tight cohorts with the PDRRMO in monitoring the whole province before, during, and after the tropical storm hits land.

During the session the newly installed MLGOO of the Municipality of Bontoc ma’am 𝙄𝙢𝙚𝙡𝙙𝙖 “𝙇𝙞𝙯𝙖” 𝘼𝙘𝙖𝙨𝙞𝙤 𝙅𝙖𝙧𝙖𝙗𝙚 attended and discussed some important key points of youth governance that we’re thoroughly deliberated by the SK Federation.

Also, ma’am 𝙅𝙖𝙮-𝘼𝙣𝙣 𝙋𝙚𝙥𝙚 the SK Bookkeeper attended and presented the updated transactions of every SK Chairpersons in the bookkeepers records maintaining transparency and strict compliance to accounting procedures.

Updates and monitoring were also discussed alongside with the planning of the series of youth activities that will be implemented in the respective barangays and in the municipality.
