Long before he became a two-time board exam topnotcher, Ed Ryan Ruales had already mastered one of life's most valuable skills—adapting.

While working full-time, he earned his Chemical Engineer license, placed Top 2 in the October 2021 Chemical Technician Licensure Examination (CTLE), and later claimed Top 1 in the February 2026 Master Plumber Licensure Examination (MPLE).

Balancing a demanding job with board exam preparation wasn't easy. "I had to make time to study amidst my 12-hour rotating shift," he said.

One habit, however, became the foundation of his board exam success. "My strategy is to make your own notes, preferably handwritten, to create some sort of map in your head to navigate during the exam," he shared.

𝐍𝐀𝐓𝐔𝐑𝐀𝐋 𝐅𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐃 𝐂𝐎𝐍𝐓𝐑𝐎𝐋🎍🎋| Yes you read it right, the Pambayang Pederasyon ng mga Sangguniang Kabataan of Bontoc will conduct “𝗕𝗔𝗠𝗕𝗢𝗢 𝗣𝗟𝗔𝗡𝗧𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗣𝗥𝗢𝗝𝗘𝗖𝗧” on June 14, 2026 Sunday at 5AM at Brgy. Guinsangaan and Brgy. Himaliko riverbanks.

Right after the 𝗕𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗼𝗰 𝗔𝗻𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗪𝗮𝗹𝗸 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, everyone is invited to join in planting 500 Giant Bamboo Seedlings in celebration of the 76th Araw ng Bontoc and in support to our municipal festival the “𝙆𝙖𝙬𝙖𝙟𝙖𝙣 𝙁𝙚𝙨𝙩𝙞𝙫𝙖𝙡”.

This project is in coordination with the LGU-Bontoc headed by 𝙃𝙤𝙣. 𝙉𝙤𝙚𝙡 𝙀. 𝘼𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙨𝙪𝙗 through the Municipal Agricultural Services Office (MAgSO) headed by 𝙈𝙧. 𝙀𝙙𝙜𝙖𝙧 𝙎𝙖𝙗𝙞𝙡𝙡𝙤, and Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO) headed by 𝙈𝙨. 𝙂𝙚𝙢𝙢𝙖 𝘼𝙢𝙗𝙪𝙮𝙤𝙘.

Planting bamboo, growing hope. Small actions, lasting impact for Bontoc’s rivers and future generations. Bontoc, My Pride, My Home!
