𝐑𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐙𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐬 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐧 𝐁𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐨𝐜 𝐙𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐃𝐑𝐑𝐌 𝐒𝐤𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐬 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐞
The Riverside Zone , covering the barangays of Talubin, Bayyo, Caneo, and Tocucan, emerged as the overall champion in the Zonal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM) Skills Challenge held on July 17, 2026, at the Eyeb Grounds.
Represented by Barangay Talubin, Team Riverside garnered an overall score of 98% , the highest accumulated score across the six competition event to include Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), Situational Analysis, Team Building, Bandaging Techniques, Rescue Carriers, and Fire Suppression through the Bucket Relay.
As the champion, Team Riverside received a ₱20,000 cash prize from the Bontoc Local Government Unit (LGU), funded through the Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Fund.
The 2026 Zonal DRRM Skills Challenge is among the Municipality of Bontoc's activities in observance of National Disaster Resilience Month (NDRM) this July. The competition aims to strengthen disaster preparedness, emergency response capabilities, and teamwork among participating barangays.
The event was spearheaded by the Bontoc LGU through the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO), in collaboration with the Bureau of Fire Protection – Bontoc Municipal Fire Station (BFP-MFS).
