✨Rafael M. Salas Kaunlarang Pantao Award (RMSKPA) 2025✨

The Rafael M. Salas Kaunlarang Pantao Award (RMSKPA) 2025 brought together dedicated advocates, peer educators, and local leaders to celebrate excellence in advancing the goals of Population and Development (POPDEV) and the Adolescent Health and Development (AHD) Program. It was a meaningful and inspiring gathering that recognized the tireless efforts of individuals and institutions who continue to champion people-centered development.

One of the most remarkable highlights of the event was the recognition of the Municipality of Boljoon, which received the Certificate of Recognition for its exemplary and commendable effort in implementing POPDEV strategies, especially in promoting Responsible Parenthood and Family Planning (RPFP) and Adolescent Health and Development (AHD). This award stands as a symbol of Boljoon’s continued dedication to nurturing the well-being, health, and empowerment of its young people.

Warmest congratulations to the Municipality of Boljoon and to Mrs. Tricia Filipino Almencion, the ever-passionate Municipal Population Officer, for her strong leadership, commitment, and genuine heart for advocacy. Your consistent efforts truly make a difference in empowering adolescents and strengthening family development initiatives in your community.

We also extend our heartfelt congratulations to Gay Baldezamo, former BAAHDI President, who continues to be an active advocate for AHD. Though no longer holding the position, her passion and dedication to the cause remain unwavering — a true testament that advocacy is not defined by titles but by genuine care and action. Gay continues to inspire young advocates to stand firm in their mission to educate, uplift, and empower others.

Special recognition also goes to Joshua Sesaldo for his active participation and support in AHD programs. His energy and commitment serve as an inspiration to his fellow youth advocates, showing how teamwork and dedication can bring meaningful impact to the community.

A heartfelt thank you to the Local Government Unit of Boljoon for its continuous and unwavering support of AHD and POPDEV initiatives. May your strong partnership with the youth and the Commission on Population and Development continue to flourish in the days ahead, as we work hand in hand toward healthier and more empowered communities.

Our deepest gratitude also goes to the Commission on Population and Development (CPD) Region VII for leading this remarkable event and for your steadfast guidance and support to all population officers, peer educators, and LGUs in the region. Your commitment to nurturing advocates and empowering local implementers truly strengthens the AHD movement across Central Visayas.

Finally, congratulations to all peer educators, municipal population officers, and LGUs throughout Region VII for your dedication, compassion, and continuous effort in promoting adolescent health and development. Your work embodies the spirit of service, leadership, and care for others.

As we honor these achievements, may this recognition serve as a reminder that every step we take toward awareness, education, and empowerment creates ripples of change. Together, let us continue building a future where every young person is healthy, informed, and empowered to make a difference.

✨ Padayon, mga Peer Advocates! 💙💫

In pursuit of accelerating the re-launch and reinstitutionalization of the region’s 𝐋𝐚𝐝𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐳𝐞𝐝 𝐏𝐞𝐞𝐫 𝐄𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 (𝐋𝐏𝐄𝐓)—a flagship initiative on 𝐴𝑑𝑜𝑙𝑒𝑠𝑐𝑒𝑛𝑡 𝐻𝑒𝑎𝑙𝑡ℎ 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝐷𝑒𝑣𝑒𝑙𝑜𝑝𝑚𝑒𝑛𝑡 (𝐴𝐻𝐷)—a two-day 𝒎𝒐𝒅𝒖𝒍𝒆 𝒆𝒏𝒉𝒂𝒏𝒄𝒆𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝒘𝒓𝒊𝒕𝒆𝒔𝒉𝒐𝒑 was successfully conducted by CPD Region VII.

This move comes after a gap was identified during the 2nd Quarter Regional Peer Educators' Conference (RPEC) held last June 11–13, 2025, where the absence of a modularized LPET approach was brought to light. To address this, a consultative meeting followed, gathering CPD Region VII personnel, selected Peer Advocates, and the lead proponents of LPET to begin the process of revitalization.

Over the course of the two-day writeshop:

✅ Level 1 of the LPET module was reviewed, revised, and enhanced.
✅ Level 2 was successfully completed and is now pending review.
❎ Levels 3 and 4 will undergo further development in a follow-up writeshop due to time constraints.

𝐖𝐀𝐘𝐒 𝐅𝐎𝐑𝐖𝐀𝐑𝐃

A 𝑻𝒓𝒂𝒊𝒏𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒐𝒇 𝑻𝒓𝒂𝒊𝒏𝒆𝒓𝒔 (𝑻𝑶𝑻) on Modules 1 and 2 is scheduled to take place by the end of August 2025. This activity serves as a significant step toward the official re-launch of this promising and distinct youth-driven initiative, which is slated before the end of the year. A full roll-out is expected in early 2026, with the aim of mobilizing and empowering more Peer Advocates, particularly across the provinces of Cebu and Bohol.

Together, let’s champion AHD initiatives by investing in informed, empowered, and purpose-driven young leaders. ✊✨

The Commission on Population and Development Region VII (CPD) conducted the Regional Peer Educators Training (RPEC), where our very own BAAHDI Peer Educators, Gay Baldezamo and Joshua Sesaldo, proudly represented us. The training was held at Goldberry Suites and Hotel, Cebu, from June 11 to 13, 2025. It brought together youth leaders and peer advocates from across the region to enhance their competencies, share best practices, and strengthen adolescent health programs through peer education.

During the event, participants worked collaboratively to finalize the Ethical Guidelines of Active Leaders and Peer Advocates for Greater AHD VII (ALAGAHD 7) and draft a comprehensive Program Guide for the Ladderized Peer Education Training (LPET).

With all that, we at BAAHDI extend our heartfelt thanks to LGU Boljoon and Municipality Mayor Hon. Jojie Derama for their unwavering support. 🌟

Daghang Salamat! 💚
