Join us this April 27, 2026 | 6:30 PM at Hagbuyo Multi-Purpose Gymnasium as we kick off our Basketball and Volleyball League in celebration of our Barangay Anniversary! 🎉

Be there for the opening program, where we will discuss the rules & regulations, mechanics, and categories. Games will also be held during the opening night, and matchups will be randomly selected.

President Marcos Jr. Confirms Signing of Law Postponing 2025 Barangay and SK Elections

BENGALURU, INDIA – President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has confirmed that he will sign the law postponing the 2025 Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE).

The President made this announcement during a press briefing in Bengaluru, India, on the evening of August 8.

Comelec Chairman George Garcia had previously indicated that the President was scheduled to sign the law on August 12.

As a result, the terms of Barangay and SK officials will be extended to four years. Barangay captains and council members will be given two four-year terms, while SK officials will serve one four-year term.

The President clarified that Comelec needs to focus on the first parliamentary elections of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) in October to ensure peace in Mindanao.

The BSKE will be postponed to November 2026.
