Today, we celebrate Escoda Day in honor of Josefa Llanes Escoda, a remarkable Filipina who dedicated her life to service, leadership, womenโs empowerment, and the development of young Filipinos.
Josefa Llanes Escoda is remembered as the founder of the Girl Scouts of the Philippines, an organization she established to help young girls develop character, leadership, responsibility, and a spirit of service. Her work also extended to civic and humanitarian causes, reflecting her commitment to the welfare of women, children, and her fellow Filipinos.
Her courage and dedication continue to inspire us, Girl Scouts, to serve our community, lead with purpose, and uphold the values she left behind. As we light our candles in her honor, may each light remind us of her courage, sacrifice, and unwavering love for our country. ๐โ๏ธ๐ต๐ญ
