THE TRUTH HIDDEN AT THE BOTTOM OF THE GLASS: A TOAST TO UNSPOKEN TRUTH
What happened yesterday?
We promised an evening of unspoken truths. What we did not anticipate was that people would actually unmute themselves and say them.
First truth: the gavel has officially changed hands.
President Mikee has passed the gavel to President Lyanie, along with a full set of newly installed officers โ all of whom smiled very bravely for the screenshot and are now quietly reading their manuals at home. Thank you, President Mikee, for leading with heart. President Lyanie, the club is yours. No returns, no exchanges, no "pwede bang isipin ko muna."
Second truth: we have witnesses now.
We warmly welcomed our new Area Director, AD Mac, who joined to observe us and โ judging by the camera โ made it out intact. We also welcomed our soon-to-be members, who logged in expecting to watch a simple meeting and instead watched three people be emotionally honest in front of a microphone. If you are still here reading this: yes, that is genuinely what happens in this club. And yes, you should still join us.
Third truth: the word of the day was CANDOR, and it was used against us.
TM Jessa, our new VP for Education, opened with "The Problem Was Never the Rain" under Presentation Mastery โ a gentle reminder that we love blaming the weather for things the weather did not do. As of last night, the rain has reportedly hired a lawyer.
President Lyanโ apologies, po โ President Lyanie, our brand-new club President, followed with "I Never Signed Up for This" under Engaging Humor. A deeply moving piece, delivered by someone who, according to official club records, did in fact sign up for this and even signed her name.
Closing the evening was TM Renz, our new VP for Public Relations, with "Unprepared" under Engaging Humor โ a speech so loyal to its own theme that its influence can still be felt in this very post.
Fourth truth: even online, the warmth got through.
No one raised actual glasses, but the toast landed anyway. There was one "Sorry, I was on mute." There was one "Hello, can you hear me po?" Someone froze on the most dramatic line of their speech and unfroze one full second after the punchline. And somehow, it was still a perfect night.
Sparkle Question:
What's something you've never said out loud, but have always wanted to?
Because sometimes the most powerful words are the ones we have been holding in for years. And sometimes they are just sitting at the bottom of the glass, waiting for someone brave enough โ or unprepared enough โ to look.
See you at the next meeting. Bring your truth. We will take care of the glass. And the link.
