𝙏𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙠, 𝙎𝙥𝙚𝙖𝙠, 𝘾𝙤𝙢𝙥𝙚𝙩𝙚: 𝘼 𝘾𝙚𝙡𝙚𝙗𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙤𝙛 𝙎𝙤𝙘𝙞𝙖𝙡 𝙒𝙤𝙧𝙠 𝙀𝙭𝙘𝙚𝙡𝙡𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚

As part of the Social Work Month celebration, BSSW students showcased their intellect, teamwork, and passion through a series of exciting competitions that brought both energy and purpose to the event. The Family Feud segment ignited the crowd as eight dynamic teams went head-to-head in a battle of quick thinking and collaboration, with each round growing more intense and unpredictable. Alongside this, the Quiz Bee competition highlighted the students’ academic excellence, as participants raced against time to answer challenging questions, demonstrating sharp recall, critical thinking, and composure under pressure.

Equally compelling was the Debate competition, where students stepped forward as advocates, representing various social concerns and tackling pressing ethical issues such as ayuda and empowerment, child protection, and juvenile justice. Each round reflected not only their knowledge but also their deep commitment to the principles and responsibilities of social work. Altogether, these events became more than just competitions—they were powerful expressions of unity, intelligence, and purpose, proving that BSSW students are not only skilled thinkers, but also future professionals ready to create meaningful change in society. 💜

𝙈𝙖𝙧𝙘𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙋𝙪𝙧𝙥𝙤𝙨𝙚: 𝘾𝙚𝙡𝙚𝙗𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙐𝙣𝙞𝙩𝙮, 𝙎𝙚𝙧𝙫𝙞𝙘𝙚, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙎𝙥𝙞𝙧𝙞𝙩 𝙤𝙛 𝙎𝙤𝙘𝙞𝙖𝙡 𝙒𝙤𝙧𝙠

The Social Work Month celebration was a lively and meaningful event that gathered students, faculty, and professionals in a shared commitment to service and social justice. The day began at 7:30 AM with a colorful parade from the quadrangle to the gymnasium, symbolizing unity and the students’ journey toward becoming dedicated social workers.

Upon arrival, BSSW sections showcased their creativity and teamwork through energetic yells, fostering camaraderie and school spirit. The formal program opened with a prayer led by Ms. Chinee Marciano, followed by the National Anthem and MarSU Hymn. Dr. Ernesto Largado, Dean of CASS, delivered his opening remarks, emphasizing the vital role of social workers in society.
Associate Professor Rosalinda E. Punzalan then introduced the keynote speaker, Mrs. Erma E. Reyes, RSW, MBA. In her inspiring address, she shared her experiences and encouraged students to uphold empathy, resilience, and integrity, ending with a powerful chant of “Mabuhay ang Manggagawang Panlipunan.” She was later awarded a certificate of appreciation.

Messages from NASWEI and IASSW representatives followed, highlighting professional support, ethical practice, and global standards in social work. The event concluded with a photo session, capturing memorable moments of unity and celebration.

Overall, the program successfully inspired participants and reinforced the core values of social work service, dedication, and compassion.
