WHAT A WONDERFUL AND PRODUCTIVE DAY FOR THE INDIGENOUS PEOPLES!
February 2, 2026 marked a momentous and prideful day for the Indigenous Peoples of Sitio Sote and Brgy Burboanan as two simultaneous activities were conducted for information, awareness, education, and the young learners.
Board of Director, Consultant Adviser, and Parliamentarian Keanu Domogoy Sanchez was invited to become the resource speaker for the cultural talk during the Bible Month Celebration at Mabog National High School at Sitio Mabog, Brgy. San Roque, Bislig City. During this portion, the IPS-IPO Introductory Video of CADT 239 was presented, important highlights on Manobo History, Governance, Customary Laws, Traditions, and Belief Systems were discussed, and a short inspirational message from Mgo Bataun tu Pangasananan President and Mabog NHS alumnus Panguyo tu Bataun Axel Almencion Anod was given. Thanks to Sir Leven Mart B. Lacuna, Mabog NHS School Head, for this life-changing opportunity of enlightening the learners of your benevolent school regarding us the Indigenous Peoples of CADT 239.
While words of enlightenment and awareness were shared in Mabog National High School, tribal leaders, elders, women, and youth representatives along with key IPEd authorities and individuals convened in Burboanan Elementary School for strengthening and empowering the IPEd implementation in this IPEd-implementing school.
Present during this grand assembly were IP leaders and representatives from Manobo-Mandaya IP groups of Burboanan. The Manobo Tribal Council of Sote and Baguis were duly represented and headed by IPS Tribal Chieftain Hawudon Tinuy-an Alfredo M. Domogoy, IPO Chairman Datu Sayaw Rodino C. Domogoy, Manigaon Sotico Adog, Datu Mag-usa Roland B. Domogoy, Datu Danao Virgilio M. Domogoy, BOD Rodrigo C. Domogoy, IP Youth Representative and IPYO Board of Director Wilson L. Domogoy, IP Women Representative and IPYO Organizational Adviser Jeraldine B. Ticar, and other members of the kunsehu tu manigaon and board of directors of CADT 239. IPEd-implementing school, Burboanan Elementary School, was duly represented by key IPEd managers, Burboanan ES IPEd Coordinator Ma'am Mary Jane G. Serrano and School Head Ma'am Roselyn G. Potot. Mandaya IP Group of Burboanan was duly represented by Datu Ariel O. Iligan, IP Women Representative Analiza I. Gorgonio, IP Elder Bernabela Serrano Balondo, and IP Youth Celesty Faith Gorgonio. Brgy Burboanan was also duly represented by Brgy Captain Carmelito B. Perater, along with Brgy Kagawads Ramel A. Parian and Peter John R. Platil
Specifically, during this event, "Orientation and Organization of the Consultative and Advisory Body (CAB) In Schools Implementing the Indigenous Peoples Education (IPEd) Program", CAB chairman and members were fairly and properly selected from Manobo and Mandaya IP groups of Burboanan, feeding of IP learners were planned, and meeting for various IPEd activities was conducted, such as creation of IP room/display of IP products and history, monthly feeding program, IP education by IP elders, Wednesday wearing of IP attire, Word of the Week teaching, making of Activity Design and MOA, and scheduling of the next feeding.
The highlight of the event, which occurred in the afternoon, was the giving of snacks to both all learners of the school, which showcases the care, love, and unity expressed by IPed-implementing school and IP communities to all IP and non-IP learners. IP leaders and IPEd-implementing school key figures, along with IP Youth representatives of CADT 239 Keanu Domogoy Sanchez and Axel Almencion Anod, including personnel from AFP sir Garren Glamucha, spearheaded this joy-giving distribution of food to young learners.
