14th Buntis Fair: Nurturing Mothers, Empowering Communities for Safe Pregnancies

Continuing its legacy of service and compassion, the Zonta Club of Laguna successfully conducted the 14th Buntis Fair on March 4, 2026, at the Zonta Lingap Center, Biñan City, dedicated to promoting safe pregnancies and empowering expectant mothers.

The program opened with prenatal checkups and breakfast, ensuring that mothers received immediate care and nourishment. This was followed by meaningful messages and informative sessions designed to equip mothers with essential knowledge for a healthy pregnancy.

Key discussions included “Wastong Nutrisyon sa Buntis,” “Strong Moms, Healthy Babies,” and “Gentle Exercises for a Healthy Pregnancy,” providing practical guidance on maternal health, proper nutrition, and overall well-being. The activity concluded with the distribution of food, tokens, and maternal support items, bringing both care and encouragement to all participants.

This initiative was made possible through the strong collaboration of its valued partners: St. Michael’s College of Laguna, Lingkod at Pagmamahal ng Saint Michael’s College of Laguna Foundation (LINGAP SMCL Foundation), Z and Golden Z Clubs, MOB Foundation, Biñan City Health Office, Biñan Doctors’ Hospital, and the Philippine Obstetrical and Gynecological Society.

Led by ZCL President Cong. Ann Matibag and Buntis Fair Chair Pinky Manuel, the Buntis Fair remains a legacy initiative that has reached thousands of pregnant women through the years creating healthier mothers, safer pregnancies, and stronger communities.

✂️💙 Libreng Tuli ngayong Summer – A Meaningful Success!

The Zonta Club of Laguna, in partnership with our committed community and medical partners, successfully conducted our Libreng Tuli program, serving a total of 100 young boys from our community.

This initiative provided not only essential medical care but also promoted proper hygiene, health, and confidence, ensuring that every child receives the care they deserve. To support their recovery and overall well-being, free circumcision briefs and medicines were also distributed to all beneficiaries.

In celebration of National Women’s Month, the Zonta Club of Laguna, together with Zonta International District 17 Area 5, conducted a courtesy call with National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) Director Atty. Melvin Matibag.

The meeting served as a meaningful platform to discuss future plans and collaborative initiatives aimed at advancing the rights, welfare, and empowerment of women and girls. Both parties shared their commitment to creating impactful programs that promote protection, leadership, and equal opportunities for women in the community.

As part of the visit, the group also toured the NBI Armory, where further discussions took place on potential activities and partnerships that can be undertaken in the future, particularly those that strengthen safety, awareness, and support systems for women.

This engagement reflects Zonta’s continuous mission to work hand in hand with key institutions in building safer spaces and more inclusive communities. Through collaboration and shared purpose, we move forward in empowering women and girls, this Women’s Month and beyond.

In celebration of the 2026 National Women’s Month, the Zonta Club of Laguna, together with Zonta International District 17 Area 5, actively participated in the Flag Raising Ceremony of the Department of Justice held at the DOJ Compound in Ermita, Manila.

Congresswoman Ann Matibag, President of the Zonta Club of Laguna and Chairperson of the Committee on Women and Gender Equality, served as the Inspirational Speaker for the event. In her message, she emphasized the importance of empowering women and girls to take on leadership roles, break barriers, and continue shaping a more inclusive and equitable society.

The ceremony also highlighted the campaign, reinforcing the call for women to rise, lead, and maximize their full potential.

Following the program, the Zonta International District 17 Area 5, together with JCI Damas de San Pedro, was formally recognized by Department of Justice Secretary Fredderick Vida for their unwavering commitment to advancing women’s rights, gender equality, and community empowerment.

This meaningful engagement reflects Zonta’s continued dedication to building a better world for women and girls through leadership, advocacy, and impactful partnerships.

The Zonta Club of Laguna, in partnership with MOB Foundation Inc. and Day by Day Christian Ministries, successfully conducted a Medical Mission for Adults and Children at Barangay San Antonio, San Pedro City, Laguna.

A total of 100 adults and 68 children received medical care, reflecting our continued commitment to promoting health, dignity, and well-being in the community.

Together, we bring hope, care, and healing one life at a time. ✨

Warm Hearts, Brighter Holidays: Pamaskong Handog for 300 Lolas and Lolos

The Zonta Club of Laguna proudly joined the MOB Foundation in its Pamaskong Handog, bringing joy, warmth, and hope to 300 senior citizens through a heartfelt Christmas celebration. The activity was filled with laughter, music, games, and gift-giving, creating a truly meaningful and memorable experience for our beloved elderly.

This initiative reflects Zonta’s continuing commitment to community service and to uplifting lives through compassion, unity, and purposeful action. By sharing our time and resources, we were able to help make the season brighter for those who have given so much to our communities. The smiles and gratitude of the senior citizens served as a powerful reminder that true service is giving from the heart.

The Zonta Club of Laguna gave 300 bags of 5-kilogram rice, cash assistance, and medicines for the senior citizens. ZCL’s support greatly contributed to the success of this meaningful activity and brought comfort and relief to many beneficiaries.
