We are thrilled to announce a new era for our organization. Formerly the English Club, we officially reintroduce ourselves as ๐ฅ๐๐ฅ๐๐ก๐ ๐ฅ๐๐๐ (VV). โเฑจเงหโกห เฃช
Derived from the Italian word Vivere, meaning to live, and Voce, meaning voice, our new name embodies our mission for this school year: to move literature beyond the pages of a book and into the rhythm of our daily lives.
โWe don't read and write poetry because it's cute. We read and write poetry because we are members of the human race. And the human race is filled with passion.โ
- Mr. John Keating, Dead Poets Society (1989).
Too often, language is treated as mere survivalโa set of rules to follow, a grade to achieve, or a requirement to fulfill. But language is not merely a means to sustain life; it is the very essence of how and why we live. It is the heartbeat behind our stories, the bridge between our thoughts and the world, and the spark that allows us to question, feel, and dream.
And this is exactly why Vivere Voce exists. At VV, we believe that English is not just a subjectโit is a living force. It is the way we speak our truths, the way we archive our history, and the way we dream of the future. Whether through the sharp critique of a classic novel or the raw emotion of spoken word, we are here to ensure that every studentโs perspective is a voice that lives.
This school year, expect more than just reading.
๐ Expect expressions.
๐ Expect connection.
๐ Expect a community where your thoughts have the power to produce โthat which makes thousands think.โ
Carpe Diem. Seize the Day, BisTechians. Make your lives extraordinary. โเฑจเงหโกห เฃช
