✨ RPIC Team: Your Friends in Public Image ✨

Secretary Guia de Leon of Rotary Public Image Committee (RPIC) shares her insights on how dynamic the RPIC Team is. She also shares how Rotarians and Rotaractors of Zone 10A Philippines can easily approach any RPIC team member for any help in Rotary Branding, etc.

Some people have been asking me, "how can you be so loyal to this person or to this group or to this certain cause?" And I usually answer with a quotation from The Little Prince, "To you, I am nothing more than a fox like a hundred thousand other foxes. But if you tame me, then we shall need each other. To me, you will be unique in all the world. To you, I shall be unique in all the world..."

Antoine de Saint-Exupéry was right, after all, with taming. We are most loving when we are friends with a certain person or team. We comply when we have faith in the system.

For years, RPIC have been known as "Branding Police." Some Rotarians would even joke, "Hey, let us be careful with our logos. The Branding Police, the RPIC Team, might see you."

And yes, RPIC team does notice... and we see a lot. Thanks to Social Networking Sites or SNS, we see not only the mistakes, but more of the goodness of the projects. We are truly inspired, yes, but we are also here to remind everyone to remain inspiring and yet united in Branding for Rotarians to become more effective ambassadors than ever.

Whenever I attend the meeting of the RPIC Team and document the Minutes of the Meeting, as their one and only Secretary, I always, always withhold myself from speaking a lot. I usually tell to myself, "Guia, this is your Student Time."

I am taking down all their unique inputs, their brilliant ideas, but more than that, I am trying to imbibe their decades of learning inside and outside of Rotary.

This is to inform you that we have two (2) updates regarding the Nomination to TOP 2022.

Attached are the revised

☝️ The 5 years of humanitarian service experience for a TOP nominee is now reduced to three (3) years. Note that age limit will still be 21 years old.

And that Rotaract Clubs can now endorse/nominate a candidate. (Tagging: District Rotaract Representative Ian de Borja.)

The One International (HK) is implementing this also.

On July 17, 2021, Rotary International District 3850 tapped the Rotary Public Image Committee (RPIC) Team in their District Public Image Seminar.

Held via Zoom, four bonafide members of RPIC team served as their very lively and knowledgeable Resource Speakers.

Past District Governor (PDG) Rey Castillo, Regional Rotary Public Image Coordinator for Zone 10-A Philippines, discussed the Importance of Public Image.

PDG Ronnie Custodio Gabalda, who is one of our Assistant Regional Public Image Coordinators (ARPIC), talked about the Correct Usage of Branding Logos.

Meanwhile, for Session 3, ARPIC/PDG Ernesto Y. Choa taught fellow Rotarians about "Bringing Rotary's Brand to Life Through People of Action."

And for the final session, "Telling Your Rotary Story" was tackled by another ARPIC, District Governor Nominee Mate Espina.

The meeting started at exactly 8:31 am with District Governor (DG) Edwin To's Call to Order. It was PDG Oliver Ong, District Trainer, who had given a very inspiring Welcome Message. (On a personal note, his speech is one of my most faves. 💯)

With hundreds of participants, the amazing Programme was taken cared of by the Master of Ceremonies, Past President (PP) Antonieta Lopez of the Rotary Club of Bacolod Central. After the Vote of Thanks and some announcements from District Secretary (DS) Joaqui Bucoy, the meeting ended with the Life-changing Message and Adjournment of DG To at exactly 12:16pm.

Kudos also to PP Melrose Lunn, PDS Chris Sorongon, Immediate PP Adrian Funtelar, President Floressa May Castro and to everyone who had made this event a huge success! 👏👏

An A1 event entitled "Making Impact, Changing Lives: Road To A Vibrant Club" was held on July 10, 2021 via Zoom.

Joining District Governor (DG) Angie Sunio, Past DG/District Trainer Fortunato M. Dimayuga Jr, DG-Elect Gina GS Sy, Past President (PP) Oscar Manalo, Jr. and PDG Liza Elorde were three members of Zone 10A Rotary Public Image Committee (RPIC) for Rotary Year 2021 to 2022.

ARPIC/Immediate PDG Tonipi Paruñgao, ARPIC/PP Josh Santos, and ARPIC/PP Ramon Dacayo served as the energetic Resource Speakers for this webinar of Rotary International District 3820.

Upon the cordial invitation of ARPIC/PP Lzl Manalo Castro-Ampatuan and District Public Image Chair May Ann Locsin Katigbak, the abovementioned ARPICs energetically taught the basics on how to be part of a vibrant club, and many more.

RPIC/PDG Rey Castillo, also from District 3820, is always supportive to all his team members. This event, by the way, was hosted by the Rotary Club of Lipa.
