Last year, Caraga State University (CSU) and Luis Y. Ferrer Jr. Senior High School showed how schools can make cycling part of everyday life.
Biking in school isn’t just about getting to class—it’s a way to move freely, save money, reduce stress, and hang out with friends along the way. By adding bike racks, safe paths, and programs that support cycling, schools give students a choice to move smarter, healthier, and greener.
Other schools can follow their lead. Help your students pick up a bike and build habits that last a lifetime.

iKilos Bayugan, represented by Sheen Ochavo and Kyrelle Catoto, proudly took part in the Youth Leadership Training and Nursery Establishment Training of ASEAN Centre for Biodiversity held on March 23–26, 2026 at Hotel Oazis, Butuan City, with field demonstration at Bood Ecopark Nursery.

From deep dives into biodiversity, wetlands conservation, and ecosystem restoration to meaningful conversations with the Agusan Manobo IP community.

Representing gender-diverse leaders advancing climate action in the Philippines, Kyrelle Catoto of iKilos Bayugan joined Sessions 1 and 2 of the 𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐏𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬 𝐂𝐥𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐆𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐅𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐰𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 held on March 13 at Richmonde Ortigas Hotel, Manila.

The fellowship is a three-month learning journey that brings together climate advocates from across the country to strengthen leadership in climate policy and advocacy, gender equality and social inclusion, strategic communications, climate finance, innovation, and monitoring and evaluation for gender-responsive climate action.

Through Kyrelle’s participation, iKilos Bayugan continues to amplify its advocacy on environmental protection, urban transformation, and climate communication, empowering communities, especially youth and local leaders to take part in building more sustainable and climate-resilient cities.

Climate action is stronger when women and gender-diverse leaders are at the forefront.

𝐏𝐀𝐃𝐘𝐀𝐊 𝐔𝐏𝐃𝐀𝐓𝐄!

This quarter, the PadyaKalikasan bike-sharing system at Caraga State University recorded 407 bike rides - and even with fewer trips, that’s still a win for the environment!

Based on the data, this number helped avoid around 0.0379 metric tons of CO₂ emissions and saved about 16.14 liters of gasoline. That means fewer harmful gases in the air and less fuel burned just by choosing to bike around campus.

Compared to the previous period with 948 rides, this quarter had fewer trips. This drop is likely because the system is currently undergoing maintenance and evaluation, and it also coincided with the school vacation, when fewer students and staff are on campus.

We’re excited to bring the bikes back stronger and better for this new year!

Exciting news! The Provincial Government of Agusan del Sur is proud to announce the launch of its bike-sharing program, making it FREE for everyone to use bikes within the government center starting this January!

We're grateful to our partner, iKilos Bayugan's PadyaKalikasan, for their generous donation of 9 units of bicycles and a storage rack. This initiative is a big step towards promoting a healthier and more environmentally-friendly lifestyle in our community that incorporates climate change mitigation, advancing climate-resilient and low-carbon development.

Interested individuals can proceed to the Provincial Tourism Office to use these bicycles from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Mondays to Fridays.

Supporting Active Transport in Butuan City 🌱

iKilos Bayugan successfully turned over two sets of bicycle racks to the City Government of Butuan at City Hall, through the City Transportation and Traffic Management Department (CTTMD). The activity was attended by Engr. Karl Jun Arellano and Amira Cembrano of the CTTMD Planning and Data Management Division.

This initiative supports active transport and sustainable mobility in Butuan City, especially in advancing the implementation of Car-Free Sunday, creating safer, healthier, and more people-centered streets for all.

iKilos Bayugan's PadyaKalikasan officially turned over a set of bikes and a rack to the Provincial Government of Agusan del Sur (PGAS) for public use at the Naliyagan Grounds in Patin-ay, Prosperidad, Tuesday morning December 9, 2025 during the flag ceremony at Datu Lipus Makapandong Cultural Center.

Executive Director Sheen Milger Ochavo and members of iKilos Bayugan handed over 9 bicycles units and a bicycle storage rack to the PGAS, with Provincial Governor Santi Cane Jr., Vice Governor Patricia "Ate Pat" Plaza, and the members of the Provincial Board receiving the project materials.
