Every journey creates ripples.

The Foundation for the Philippine Environment (FPE) and YGOAL proudly share Ripples of Change: The Journey — an e-book/zine that chronicles the growth and journey of the initiative through Phases 1 and 2 since its launch in 2021.

Blending stories, milestones, reflections, and program highlights in a zine-style format, the publication documents how youth leaders, organizations, mentors, and partners helped shape a growing movement for biodiversity conservation and youth engagement across the Philippines.

As the initiative now moves forward with Phase 3, the e-book serves both as a celebration and a record of the journey so far.

Isa na namang “development” na kapalit ang kalikasan

Habang umiinit ang klima at lumalala ang baha, lalo ring humihina ang mga likas na panangga natin.

Protectors? o enablers ng destruction?

DENR na dapat tagapagtanggol ng kalikasan ay inuugnay sa mga desisyong nagbubukas ng protected areas, watershed at biodiversity hotspots sa panganib.

Hindi ito isolated.
Sunod-sunod ang pag-apruba at pagdepensa sa mga proyektong sumasapol sa mga natural na panangga natin laban sa climate crisis.

Gaano pa karaming puno ang kailangang mawala bago natin aminin na krisis na ito?

In support of the City Government of Butuan City and the City Transportation and Traffic Management Department (CTTMD), iKilos Bayugan joined the 2-day Participatory Road Infrastructure Audit – L.A.W.I.G. (Livable, Accessible, Walkable, Inclusive, Green Networks).

The activity brought together a diverse group of stakeholders from the academe, civil society organizations (CSOs), and road safety advocates, to runners and bikers clubs, representatives from religious and government sectors, and the PWD federation. This multi-sectoral participatory engagement underscores a shared commitment to enhancing road safety, improving accessibility and promoting a more efficient and people-centered transport system.

Through collaborative assessment and on-the-ground evaluation, participants identified key infrastructure gaps and local street challenges, contributing insights toward the development of safer, more walkable, and inclusive urban spaces.

iKilos Bayugan dropped by SM City Butuan to check out “EARTH IN FOCUS: Wildlife and Ecosystems Through the Lens of Erwin Mascariñas,” featuring the works of Mr. Erwin Mascariñas.

The exhibit really puts into perspective how rich and at the same time, how vulnerable our wildlife is, especially here in Caraga and across the country. It’s one thing to talk about biodiversity, but seeing it through real stories and images hits differently.

As iKilos Bayugan, we support spaces like this that make environmental awareness more visible and relatable. We believe that bridging science, storytelling, and community engagement is key to making biodiversity conservation more accessible and meaningful to everyday citizens.

Last year, Caraga State University (CSU) and Luis Y. Ferrer Jr. Senior High School showed how schools can make cycling part of everyday life.
Biking in school isn’t just about getting to class—it’s a way to move freely, save money, reduce stress, and hang out with friends along the way. By adding bike racks, safe paths, and programs that support cycling, schools give students a choice to move smarter, healthier, and greener.
Other schools can follow their lead. Help your students pick up a bike and build habits that last a lifetime.
