From Tomatoes, Mealworms and Azolla : Animal Science Majors Cooked Up Research, Not dinner!!

Three research groups successfully presented their research proposal on May 25, 2026, at the College of Agriculture Room 1. The presented studies highlighted innovative and sustainable approaches in animal production, focusing on quail and exotic swine breeds as the primary commodities.

The groups explored the potential of tomato supplementation in swine, as well as the utilization of azolla and mealworms as alternative protein sources for both swine and quail production. These studies aim to contribute to more sustainable, cost-efficient, and climate-resilient feeding strategies in the livestock and poultry industry.

Congratulations to all the groups for reaching this important academic milestone, and best wishes as you continue your research journey.

ADVISORY | Continuation of Classes, Final Examinations,and Work on May 21, 2026

This refers to Executive Order No. 53, s. 2026, issued by the Office of the Governor, declaring the suspension of classes at all levels in both public and private schools within the Province of Nueva Vizcaya and highly encouraging government agencies in the Province to suspend work or adopt flexible work arrangements on May 21, 2026, in celebration of the Annual Grand Ammungan Festival.

Following the issuance of the Executive Order, the University submitted a formal letter to the Office of the Governor explaining the scheduled final examinations on May 20–22, 2026, as well as the conduct of the University’s 2nd Surveillance Audit for ISO Recertification on May 20–21, 2026, and requested exemption from the suspension in view of these previously scheduled academic and institutional commitments. The request was duly approved by the Office of the Governor.

Accordingly, the conduct of final examinations and work for all teaching and non-teaching personnel of Nueva Vizcaya State University shall proceed as scheduled on May 21, 2026.
