Nagtambayayong ang Student Broadcasters’ Circle (SBC), Amaranth, ug ang Development Communicators’ Society (DeCSo) alang sa Press Be With You nga gipahigayon sa Ormoc City Senior High School (OCSHS) karong adlawa, Oktubre 4, 2025.

Gisalmutan ang maong workshop sa piniling mga campus journalists sa tunghaan, diin sila mibansay pinaagi sa mga sesyon nga gipangulohan sa mga magtutudlo sa lain-laing kategorya.

𝐁𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞 𝐆𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐚 𝐏𝐮𝐬𝐨: 𝐀 𝐃𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐃𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐄𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐡𝐪𝐮𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐕𝐢𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐍𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐡 𝐂𝐞𝐛𝐮

The 6.9 magnitude earthquake that struck Northern Cebu left many families in urgent need of help. In response, the VSU-University Supreme Student Council is launching a donation drive together with 50 organizations for those affected by this recent calamity.

We invite our students, alumni, staff, and the entire Viscan community to come together in this effort. Your contributions—whether financial or in-kind—will provide relief, comfort, and hope to families and communities in need.

Once we have collected sufficient supplies, we will dispatch them directly to the affected community.

Let us also continue to pray for those impacted. The aftershocks remain powerful, and many families are mourning, anxious, and in need of solace.

May we be the hands that serve, the hearts that pray, and the voices that uplift.

𝙒𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙝𝙖𝙥𝙥𝙚𝙣𝙨 𝙬𝙝𝙚𝙣 𝙩𝙧𝙪𝙩𝙝 𝙗𝙚𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙚𝙨 𝙖 𝙘𝙧𝙞𝙢𝙚 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙨𝙞𝙡𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚 𝙗𝙚𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙚𝙨 𝙨𝙪𝙧𝙫𝙞𝙫𝙖𝙡?

Fifty-three years ago on this day, the late President Ferdinand Marcos Sr. declared Martial Law in the Philippines. It marked the beginning of a 14-year-long dictatorship and the curtailment of freedom. A time when criticizing the government could mean imprisonment— or death. Journalism was branded a crime, and opposing voices were silenced. Journalists and activists were detained and tortured, with some still missing to this day. Thousands of lives were lost.

In the prevalence of disinformation and historical distortion, atrocities during this dark chapter of our history must never be forgotten. It is our duty to stand for the truth. Let us continue to shed light on what matters and walk the road less traveled.

We remember martial law not just as a date in history but as proof that memory is our sharpest defense.

On September 15, 2025, over 200 Viscans gathered at the VSU Advanced Resource and Innovation Center (ARIC) to witness a historic moment. 𝗛𝗮𝗿𝘃𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗠𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹’𝘀 𝗗𝗿. 𝗥𝗶𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗗. 𝗖𝘂𝗺𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 delivered an inspiring lecture on 𝗴𝗹𝘆𝗰𝗼𝘀𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀, exploring its impact on medicine, genetics, and brain research. A milestone as VSU gears up for its future Medicine program!
