In this article, we will address the question of what philosophy is through the lens of Deleuze, a French Philosopher and Félix Guattari, a French psychoanalyst and political activist who collaborated on a number of works.
Among their collaborative creations are Capitalism and Schizophrenia, Kafka: Toward a Minor Literature, and What Is Philosophy?

𝐋𝐄𝐓’𝐒 𝐌𝐀𝐊𝐄 𝐓𝐇𝐈𝐒 𝐘𝐄𝐀𝐑 𝐂𝐎𝐔𝐍𝐓!

The new academic year kicked off with the FHSS Onboarding on August 19, 2026, at the VSU Gymnasium, bringing together new faces and familiar ones for a day of introductions, connections, and fresh beginnings. It was a meaningful way to welcome our students and start another exciting chapter in the FHSS community.

The onboarding gave students an opportunity to meet the faculty members, learn more about their respective departments, and gain a better understanding of the university’s policies, services, and expectations. It also opened space for meaningful discussions and reminders that will help guide students throughout the academic year.

As we step into another year, may we continue to question, learn, connect, and grow together. Here’s to new perspectives, meaningful conversations, and experiences that make the journey worthwhile!

A little late, but the memories from Salubong 2026 are worth looking back on! Last August 14, 2026, we joined the Salubong 2026 celebration and welcomed the new academic year with smiles, excitement, and new beginnings.

As Truth Seekers, may we carry the same curiosity into the year ahead—questioning, learning, and growing together.

We, the Truth Seekers Society, the course organization of AB Philosophy, collectively condemn the massive budget cuts that the State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) are currently facing, especially with the Department of Budget and Management's (DBM) 2027 National Expenditure Program submitted to Congress.

These reductions do not simply decrease financial assistance; they translate into real, long-term harm to students, faculty, and communities. This often limits or delays faculty development initiatives, slowing down training, research capacity-building, and professional growth that improve teaching quality. Facilities can also deteriorate without adequate maintenance and modernization, affecting classrooms, laboratories, libraries, student services, and overall learning conditions. Moreover, reduced budgets can constrain student support programs and weaken the university’s ability to respond to emerging academic and societal needs.

We call to strongly oppose such fiscal restraints, as we believe that increased funding is essential for a university to continue providing high-quality tertiary education and to effectively compete globally.

SUCs are key pillars of access, development, and national progress, and adequate resources and government support are necessary for them to remain relevant in a rapidly evolving world—where academic standards, research expectations, and global competitiveness depend on sustained institutional capacity.

We stand firmly against these budget cuts. We reject policies that undermine SUCs, weaken education quality, and compromise the futures of both students and educators. We demand that the Congress and the responsible agencies prioritize the needs of SUCs and restore, at minimum, a funding level that protects academic excellence, strengthens faculty development, maintains vital university facilities, and honors the promise of public higher education.

Truth Seekers Society.

‎On 13 August 2026, the Department of Philosophy and Social Sciences Orientation and Truth Seekers Society General Assembly brought us together to begin another academic year with shared ideas, meaningful conversations, and a renewed sense of community.
‎
‎The DPSS Orientation introduced our faculty members and discussed the AB Philosophy program policies and guidelines, giving students a clearer understanding of the academic journey ahead. Meanwhile, the Truth Seekers Society General Assembly introduced the newly elected officers, facilitated the oath taking and turnover ceremonies, presented the Constitution and By-Laws (CBL) and proposed revisions, laid out the organization’s annual plan, and conducted the election of year-level representatives.

‎Through these activities, we come together as a community grounded in dialogue, critical thinking, shared experiences, and the pursuit of truth.
