Not all delays signify failure. Sometimes, they are Allah’s way of protecting us from greater harm. Just like the postponement of the first BARMM Parliamentary Election, we are reminded that everything happens for a reason decreed by Allah.
Allah ﷻ says in the Qur’an:
وَعَسَىٰٓ أَن تَكْرَهُوا۟ شَيْـًۭٔا وَهُوَ خَيْرٌۭ لَّكُمْ ۖ وَعَسَىٰٓ أَن تُحِبُّوا۟ شَيْـًۭٔا وَهُوَ شَرٌّۭ لَّكُمْ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ يَعْلَمُ وَأَنتُمْ لَا تَعْلَمُونَ
(Wa ʿasā an takrahū shay’an wahuwa khayrun lakum, wa ʿasā an tuḥibbū shay’an wahuwa sharrun lakum; wa-Allāhu yaʿlamu wa antum lā taʿlamūn)
“𝐁𝐮𝐭 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐬 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐡𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐚 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐢𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐠𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐲𝐨𝐮; 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐬 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞 𝐚 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐢𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐛𝐚𝐝 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐲𝐨𝐮. And Allah knows, while you know not.” (Surah Al-Baqarah 2:216)
Every time we spend our time, money, and effort for a good cause, let it be an act of worship for Allah. Surely, Allah will never let our efforts go to waste and we will see their fruitfulness both in this dunya and in the Akhirah, In Shaa Allah.
May Allah grant us tawfiq, hidayah, and sabr in every good deed and act of ibadah we strive to fulfill.
