CLEAN OUR COAST, PROTECT OUR FUTURE

Bayang, Lanao del Sur– Demonstrating its commitment to environmental stewardship and community partnership with the 64th Infantry “Knights” Battalion under the leadership of LTC JERRY B GAVIOLA INF (GSC) PA, actively participated in a coastal clean-up drive at RKS Beach, Brgy Baraas, Picong Lanao del Sur on July 18, 2026.

The activity brought together the troops of the 64IB led by 1LT REWINE G DEGORIO (INF) PA, Company Commander, Alpha Company, together with 1LT DWAYNE PAUL D SOTELO (INF) PA, Alpha Company Executive Officer and 2LT JUNARD M BLANCHE (INF) PA, Acting Civil-Military Operations Officer; troops of the 101st "Three Red Arrows" Brigade, students and teachers of the Ralph Edmund Spencer Foundation, led by its Executive Director, Mr. Anthony G. Anton, in a collective effort to remove waste and debris along the shoreline that help preserve the natural beauty of the coastal area. The initiative aimed to promote environmental awareness, instill a sense of civic responsibility, and encourage volunteerism among the participants.

The participation of the 64IB underscores the Philippine Army's commitment on supporting the community-based initiatives that foster environmental conservation, strengthen partnerships with educational institutions, and promote sustainable development. Beyond its mandate of maintaining peace and security, the battalion continues to take an active role in programs that contribute to the welfare and resilience of local communities.

The coastal clean-up drive reflects the Philippine Army's continuing dedication to nation-building through community engagement and environmental stewardship, demonstrating and safeguarding the environment is a shared responsibility that contributes to a cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable future for all.

It is with profound sadness that the officers and enlisted personnel of 64 Infantry "Knights" Battalion extend our deepest sympathies and heartfelt condolences to the family and loved ones, of our fallen soldier, Cpl Jayson Castro (Inf) PA.

We honor our brave comrade who made the ultimate sacrifice in the faithful performance of duty. His courage, dedication, and unwavering commitment to protecting the Filipino people and preserving peace will forever be remembered. His selfless service stands as an enduring testament to the highest ideals of the Philippine Army and the Armed Forces of the Philippines.

During this time of grief, we join his entire family in mourning this irreplaceable loss. We pray that Almighty God grants strength, comfort, and peace to the bereaved family and that the cherished memories of our fallen hero continue to inspire all who serve.

Your sacrifice will never be forgotten. Your legacy of honor, courage, and patriotism will live on in the hearts of a grateful nation.
