𝟑𝟗 𝐒𝐄𝐍𝐈𝐎𝐑 𝐂𝐈𝐓𝐈𝐙𝐄𝐍𝐒 𝐍𝐀𝐊𝐀𝐓𝐀𝐍𝐆𝐆𝐀𝐏 𝐍𝐆 𝐀𝐒𝐒𝐈𝐒𝐓𝐈𝐕𝐄 𝐃𝐄𝐕𝐈𝐂𝐄𝐒 𝐌𝐔𝐋𝐀 𝐒𝐀 𝐋𝐆𝐔 𝐁𝐀𝐔𝐀𝐍𝐆

Pormal na ibinahagi ng ating Municipal Mayor, Hon. Ma. Clarissa T. Lee, ang mga kagamitang pantulong para sa mga senior citizen ng Bauang noong May 26, 2026 sa opisina ng OSCA. Ito ay isa sa mga programa ng Local Government Unit ng Bauang sa ilalim ng Office for Senior Citizens Affairs (OSCA) na pinamumunuan ni Gng. Ernestina Teresita E. Del Rosario para sa pagtataguyod ng kapakanan at karapatan ng mga nakatatanda.

Matagumpay na naipamahagi ang 39 piraso ng assistive devices sa ating mga KaSenior mula sa 39 barangays ng Bauang. Ang mga assistive devices na ibinigay ay wheelchair, tungkod, at walker, na mga kahilingan ng ating mga KaSenior para magkaroon sila ng magagamit araw-araw.

Ang programang ito ay nagpapakita ng patuloy na pagmamalasakit at paggalang sa mga kontribusyon ng ating mga nakatatanda sa ating komunidad.

𝐏𝐑𝐄𝐒𝐒 𝐑𝐄𝐋𝐄𝐀𝐒𝐄: The National Commission of Senior Citizens (NCSC) issues public advisory reminding the public, government agencies, and private establishments to 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗴𝗻𝗶𝘇𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗲𝗽𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗱𝗶𝗴𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗼𝗿 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝗶𝘇𝗲𝗻𝘀 𝗜𝗗 (𝗡𝗦𝗖𝗜𝗗) presented by Filipino senior citizens as a 𝘃𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗱 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗼𝗳 𝗼𝗳 𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗶𝗻 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀.
Pursuant to NCSC Public Advisory No. 1, Series of 2026, the digital NSCID that is accessible through the eGovPH App may be used by senior citizens to:
☑️ Avail of the 20% discount and VAT exemption on medicines, food, transportation, and other covered goods and services;
☑️ Access government services, assistance programs, benefits, and priority accommodations in public and private establishments;
☑️ Use for banking, financial, and identity verification transactions, including account opening, loan applications, and benefit claims; and
☑️ Present in transactions where a Senior Citizen ID is required or commonly accepted.
“We call on all institutions and establishments to accept the digital NSCID in accordance with the law, similar to other government IDs available through the eGovPH App,” said NCSC Chairperson and CEO Atty. Ma. Merceditas N. Gutierrez.

The Office for Senior Citizens Affairs (OSCA), headed by Ms. Ernestina Teresita E. Del Rosario, led the updating of the Senior Citizens' Database for the 39 barangays from January to March of 2026. A picture taking for the Senior citizens also takes place. The said photo will be used in the upgrading of our senior citizens' ID.

The goal of the activity is to update its database with pertinent data such as the senior citizen's full name, birthdate, PCN (PhilSys Card Number), and RRN (registration reference number). The information acquired will be utilized to properly design extensive initiatives, programs, and activities that will improve the well-being of our elderly citizens.

Nakiramay ang Federation of Senior Citizens Association of Bauang, La Union (FSCABLU) sa pangunguna ni Ms. Ernestina Teresita E. Del Rosario, OSCA Head, sa pamilya ng namayapang si Consolacion Vergara-Estioco ng Barangay Bawanta, 90 years old.

Ang Prayer Service ay isa sa mga aktibidad ng Office for Senior Citizens Affairs (OSCA) kasama ang FSCABLU tuwing may namamatay na Senior Citizen na nangangailangan ng padasal at pag-alala. Ito ay tanda ng pakikiramay sa pamilyang naiwan ng yumao at pagbibigay-galang sa kaniyang mga kontribusyon sa komunidad.

𝐈𝐍 𝐏𝐇𝐎𝐓𝐎𝐒: 𝐂𝐄𝐍𝐓𝐄𝐍𝐀𝐑𝐈𝐀𝐍 𝐇𝐎𝐍𝐎𝐑𝐄𝐃 𝐈𝐍 𝐁𝐀𝐔𝐀𝐍𝐆

In a heartfelt tribute to a life well-lived, Mayor Ma. Clarissa “Manang Bong” T. Lee, together with Municipal Social Welfare and Development Officer Ms. Arlie R. Alonzo, personally awarded a ₱25,000 cash gift from the Provincial Government of La Union to centenarian Lola Trinidad L. Caluza on April 20, 2025.

The recognition forms part of the provincial government’s program honoring senior citizens who have reached the remarkable milestone of 100 years, celebrating their invaluable contributions, wisdom, and legacy within the community.

The Municipality of Bauang extends its warmest congratulations to Lola Trinidad, whose century of life stands as an inspiration to all Bauangeños.
