Na-feature ng UNAIDS ang Wagayway Equality Desk sa Batangas City bilang halimbawa ng community-led HIV response na nagbibigay ng accessible services at suporta para sa LGBTQIA+ community, kabataan, at people living with HIV.

Patunay ito na ang sama-samang pagkilos ng komunidad, volunteers, at local government ay may impact na umaabot beyond Batangas! 💙

Our Story: A Continuing Legacy of Care

In 2020, at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, Wagayway Equality initiated Project Kalinga, a community-led humanitarian response that extended essential assistance and solidarity to communities across the cities and municipalities of Batangas Province.

What began as an emergency response has evolved into a continuing commitment to compassion, inclusion, and community resilience.

September 9, 2026 marks another milestone in this journey.

Now reintroduced as KALINGA PROJECT, the initiative enters a strengthened chapter of emergency assistance, health support, and community protection for LGBTQIA+ individuals and Key Populations.

Through our partnership with Youth LEAD, the Asia-Pacific regional network of young key populations, we are expanding opportunities to provide accessible, confidential, and community-centered support through the Wagayway Emergency Support for LGBTQIA+ Communities grant.

Hindi nagtatapos ang pagkalinga. Patuloy itong lumalawak, lumalalim, at umaabot sa mas nangangailangan.

🏳️‍🌈 SPEARHEADING CHANGE: ADVANCING SOGIESC AWARENESS IN THE COMMUNITY! 💜

Wagayway Equality engaged with the LGBTQIA+ community of Barangay Wawa in a meaningful discussion on SOGIESC 101, organized by the Office of the City Health, on October 17, 2026.

The session provided an opportunity to promote understanding of S*xual Orientation, Gender Identity and Expression, and S*x Characteristics (SOGIESC), while encouraging respect, inclusivity, and acceptance of diverse identities.

Through community engagement and inclusive education, Wagayway Equality continues to champion equality, challenge discrimination, and create safe spaces where everyone is valued and respected. We believe that meaningful change begins with awareness, grows through understanding, and thrives when communities stand together for equality.

💜 Together, let us build a community where diversity is celebrated, dignity is protected, and no one is left behind.

🏳️‍🌈 BASIC HIV 101: KNOW THE FACTS, BREAK THE STIGMA! ❤️

Wagayway Equality volunteers participated in Basic HIV 101: Beyond the Basics of HIV, organized by the City Health Office on Saturday, October 17, 2026, at Max’s Restaurant, 2nd Floor, Batangas City.

This learning opportunity strengthened our commitment to promoting HIV awareness, advancing accurate health education, and fostering a community free from discrimination and stigma. Through continued learning and active participation, we aim to empower our volunteers to become advocates for informed choices, compassion, and inclusive healthcare.

At Wagayway Equality, we believe that knowledge saves lives, awareness breaks barriers, and compassion builds an inclusive community. Let us continue to educate, advocate, and stand together in the fight against HIV stigma. ❤️
