The 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐁𝐚𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐬 – 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐠𝐮𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐃𝐎𝐒𝐓 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐬 (𝐔𝐁𝐋𝐃𝐒) proudly recognizes two of its outstanding DOST scholars, 𝐅𝐚𝐲𝐞 𝐃𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐞 𝐃𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐧 and 𝐌𝐲𝐤 𝐋𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐇𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐳, for their exceptional performance in the 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐃𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐄𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐡𝐪𝐮𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝐢𝐧 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥𝐬 (𝐈𝐃𝐄𝐄𝐑𝐒) 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓, held from 𝐒𝐞𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟐𝟗 𝐭𝐨 𝐎𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟐 at the 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝐨𝐧 𝐄𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐡𝐪𝐮𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 (𝐍𝐂𝐑𝐄𝐄) in 𝐓𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐧, 𝐓𝐚𝐢𝐰𝐚𝐧.

Representing the 𝐏𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬 among 𝟒𝟗 𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐜𝐫𝐨𝐬𝐬 𝐀𝐬𝐢𝐚, the 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐁𝐚𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐬 team secured 𝟏𝟑𝐭𝐡 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐠𝐥𝐨𝐛𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 and emerged as the 𝐓𝐨𝐩 𝟏 𝐏𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲 in the competition. Under the guidance of 𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐫. 𝐍𝐞𝐢𝐥 𝐆𝐫𝐚𝐡𝐚𝐦 𝐁𝐡𝐞𝐥 𝐆𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐢𝐚, their structural model stood out as the 𝐨𝐧𝐥𝐲 𝐏𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐲 𝐭𝐨 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐚𝐧 𝟖𝟎𝟎 𝐆𝐚𝐥 𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐡𝐪𝐮𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐬𝐢𝐦𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧—a powerful benchmark of structural resilience, equivalent to 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐠-𝐭𝐨-𝐦𝐚𝐣𝐨𝐫 𝐬𝐞𝐢𝐬𝐦𝐢𝐜 𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐭𝐲.

For this feat, the team received the prestigious 𝐐𝐮𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝, recognizing their model’s outstanding design and performance. As SLC 2025 opens in Palo, Leyte, Ms. Marilyn O. Radam, Assistant Regional Director of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Region VIII, warmly welcomes the scholar participants.

She emphasizes that the scholars are future scientists, teachers, leaders, and changemakers. She reminds them to use this opportunity to strengthen their values, sharpen their skills, and move forward with purpose. When they return to their schools and homes, she encourages them to carry the lessons they've learned and multiply their impact.

On September 20, 2025, the University of Batangas – League of DOST Scholars joined the global movement to protect our oceans at Sta. Rita Aplaya, Batangas City. Armed with gloves, sacks, and a shared commitment, volunteers worked hand in hand to collect waste and raise awareness on how simple actions can lead to cleaner, healthier seas. 🌍💙

The fight against the climate crisis begins with each of us. By keeping our coastlines clean, we safeguard not only marine life but also the future of the communities that depend on them. 🌱🐚

The League of DOST Scholars – University of Batangas reached out to Tinga Sorosoro Integrated School with one goal in mind: to promote health, safety, and preparedness.

Through the distribution of first aid kits and a short orientation on their use, students and teachers were reminded of the importance of being ready to respond in times of need. What may seem like small items — bandages, gauze, antiseptics — can truly make a big difference during emergencies.

This activity reflects the scholars’ commitment to serve the community and empower others with knowledge that saves lives. 💡⛑️
