🌧️💜 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐫 𝐓𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐦 | 𝐀𝐮𝐠𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝟏–𝟏𝟓, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 💜🌧️

Typhoon season may have brought challenging days, but it did not stop us from showing up for the community.

Sa unang kalahati ng Agosto, kahit may mga panahong hindi naging madali ang paglabas at pag-abot sa komunidad, patuloy pa rin nating nabigyan ng serbisyo ang ilang Batangueños na lumapit sa Equality Desk. From walk-in clients and community concerns to continued coordination, advocacy work, and meaningful engagements with our partners, we remained committed to making our services accessible when they were needed.

Ang bawat taong lumapit, bawat concern na napakinggan, at bawat serbisyong naihatid ay patunay ng kahalagahan ng pagkakaroon ng ligtas at maaasahang espasyo para sa komunidad.

Sa gitna ng ulan at unos, nananatili ang ating paninindigan. Dahil ang tunay na resilience ay hindi lamang tungkol sa pagtitiis—ito ay ang patuloy na pagbangon, pag-abot, at paglilingkod sa kapwa. 🌈

Kahit umuulan, patuloy ang pagkilos. Kahit may unos, patuloy ang serbisyo.

Para sa Batangueños. Para sa equality. Para sa lahat. 💜🤝

💜 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐡-𝐄𝐧𝐝 𝐑𝐞𝐜𝐚𝐩 | 𝐉𝐮𝐥𝐲 𝟏𝟔–𝟑𝟎, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 💜

As we wrap up the month of July, we look back on weeks filled with purpose, partnership, and service.

From assisting walk-in clients at the Equality Desk, conducting community outreach activities, strengthening partnerships through collaboration meetings and courtesy visits, to participating in advocacy events and community engagements—every initiative brought us one step closer to building a more inclusive and equitable community.

Behind every activity are conversations that empowered individuals, partnerships that created new opportunities, and collective efforts that continue to advance equality, human rights, and accessible services for all.

July may be ending, but our mission continues. We remain committed to creating safe spaces, amplifying community voices, and working hand in hand with our partners to ensure that no one is left behind.

Maraming salamat sa lahat ng volunteers, partners, allies, at community members na patuloy na sumusuporta at nakikibahagi sa aming adbokasiya. Together, we move forward—with compassion, courage, and a shared vision of equality.

The Sangguniang Panlungsod has officially approved on 3rd and Final Reading the institutionalization of the Wagayway Equality Desk — a community-led mechanism for the promotion of Gender Equality, Human Rights, HIV response, and inclusive access to health, social, and economic services.

This is more than an ordinance. It’s a step toward a Batangas City where everyone is seen, heard, and protected. Mabuhay ang pagkakapantay-pantay!

🌈 BREAKING NEWS: EQUALITY DESK PASADO NA SA 3RD AND FINAL READING!

Isang taos-pusong pasasalamat sa lahat ng naging bahagi ng pagsusulong ng Batangas City Equality Desk Ordinance.

Matapos ang Pride Month, dala natin ang isang mahalagang achievement para sa komunidad: isang mas matibay na mekanismo para sa gender equality, human rights, HIV response, at mas inclusive na access sa health, social, at economic services.

Hindi ito tagumpay ng iisang grupo lamang. Ito ay bunga ng pakikinig, pakikipag-ugnayan, at sama-samang pagkilos ng komunidad, civil society, local government, advocates, volunteers, at mga lider na patuloy na naninindigan para sa dignidad at pantay na karapatan ng bawat Batangueño.

Maraming salamat sa Sangguniang Panlungsod ng Batangas City at sa lahat ng champions and partners who helped move this forward.

At hindi pa rito nagtatapos ang laban.

Mayroon pa itong twin ordinance na patuloy nating isusulong upang higit pang mapagtibay ang Right to Care—ang karapatan ng bawat isa sa ligtas, makatao, accessible, at stigma-free na serbisyo at suporta.

From Pride to policy, and from policy to care.

Patuloy tayong magkakapit-bisig para sa isang Batangas City na mas inclusive, compassionate, at may lugar para sa lahat.

As Pride Month came to a close, our commitment to the community only grew stronger.

The last two weeks of June were filled with meaningful action—from Equality Desk services and community outreach, to advocacy meetings, courtesy visits, Pride marches, HIV awareness initiatives, policy engagements, and collaborations that continue to push the movement for equality forward.

Every conversation sparked awareness. Every partnership strengthened our collective voice. Every service delivered reminded us that Pride is not only celebrated on the streets—it is reflected in the work we do, the communities we serve, and the systems we strive to transform.

As the rainbow flags may come down, our advocacy never does. We carry the spirit of Pride beyond June—championing inclusion, protecting human rights, expanding access to essential services, and ensuring that every LGBTQIA+ person is seen, heard, respected, and empowered.

To every volunteer, partner, ally, advocate, and community member who stood with us this Pride Month: thank you for making every effort count. Together, we proved that Pride is not just a celebration—it is a movement fueled by service, solidarity, and unwavering hope.

🌈 Pride ends. Our advocacy doesn’t.

We kicked off Pride Month not just with celebration, but with purpose.

Sa unang dalawang linggo ng Hunyo, patuloy nating dinala ang adbokasiya sa iba’t ibang espasyo sa pamamagitan ng Equality Desk services, community outreach activities, partnership meetings, courtesy visits, at Pride-related engagements na nagpapalakas sa boses ng ating komunidad.

Sa bawat taong aming nakausap, nakasama, at nakatrabaho ngayong unang kalahati ng Pride Month, Maraming Salamat. Ang inyong suporta at pakikiisa ang nagpapatuloy sa ating kolektibong pagkilos para sa isang mas makatarungan at mas mapagkalingang lipunan.

Pride is more than a celebration, it is community, courage, and collective action. ✊🏳️‍🌈✨

Sa ikalawang kalahati ng Mayo, patuloy nating pinalawak ang espasyo ng malasakit at pagkakapantay-pantay—mula sa Equality Desk walk-in clients at community outreach, hanggang sa collaboration meetings at courtesy visits kasama ang iba’t ibang partners at stakeholders.

Bawat koneksyon at bawat usapan ay mahalagang bahagi ng mas malawak na adhikain: isang komunidad na may ligtas na espasyo, bukas na dayalogo, at serbisyong may malasakit para sa lahat. Maraming salamat sa mga taong patuloy na nakikiisa, nagtitiwala, at lumalakad kasama namin sa adbokasiyang ito. ✨

Sa pagbubukas ng Buwan ng Hunyo at sa paggunita ng Pride Month, buong galak na pinangunahan ng Equality Desk by Wagayway Equality at LGBTQIA+ SILBI ang Flag Ceremony sa Local Government Unit ng Batangas City.

Ang simpleng pagtitipon na ito ay hindi lamang bahagi ng ating regular na seremonya—ito rin ay simbolo ng pagkilala, paggalang, at patuloy na pagsusulong ng isang komunidad na ligtas, makatarungan, at inklusibo para sa lahat.

Sa bawat watawat na itinataas at sa bawat tinig na nagkakaisa, ipinapaalala natin na ang Pride Month ay higit pa sa selebrasyon. Isa itong paalala ng ating mga laban, tagumpay, at patuloy na pagkilos para sa pagkakapantay-pantay at dignidad ng bawat isa, lalo na ng LGBTQIA+ community.

Maraming salamat sa City Government of Batangas sa pakikiisa ng ating lokal na pamahalaan, mga katuwang, at komunidad na patuloy na nagbibigay ng espasyo para sa pagkilala at pagrespeto sa pagkakaiba-iba.

Mahalaga ka. Kasama ka. At may lugar ka sa ating lungsod. 🏳️‍🌈✨
