The University has recently received bomb threats that disrupted the delivery of services to thousands of students and stakeholders, and caused unnecessary fear and anxiety among members of our academic community.
These malicious acts are a direct assault on the University's mission to provide quality education in a safe and secure learning environment.
We condemn these threats in the strongest possible terms. We assure the public that the safety and welfare of our students, faculty, and staff remain our highest priority. The management, in close coordination with law enforcement and investigative agencies, is undertaking a thorough and relentless investigation to identify, apprehend and prosecute those responsible. All available resources are being mobilized to trace the perpetrators and ensure that they are held fully accountable under the law.
We warn these individuals, and anyone who may attempt similar acts, that the deliberate dissemination of false information or the making of bomb threats, whether real or fabricated, constitutes a serious criminal offense punishable under Presidential Decree No. 1727 and the Revised Penal Code in relation to the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012, and other applicable special penal laws, carrying penalties of imprisonment, fines, or both.
We call on everyone to remain calm, vigilant, and cooperative as we continue to safeguard the University community.
Accountability will be pursued against those who endanger public safety and disrupt the University's operations. We reaffirm that such acts of intimidation will never deter us from fulfilling our mandates.
