MISSION
Akay Peer Facilitators aims to create a healthy mental environment for Philippine Science High School - CALABARZON by providing emotional support and mental health awareness to the community and bridging the gaps between the student-scholars and other academic stakeholders while abiding by the values of a PISAY scholar and a Peer Facilitator. VISION
It is our vision to let the scholars, the faculty, and staff of Philippine Science High School - CALABARZON be accessible to any kind of emotional support, service, and educational tools present within our limits to create a path to better mental health.

𝐒𝐮𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐡💌🫂 is observed every September with the goal of 𝗿𝗮𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀🎗️, 𝗿𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴 stigma🤍, and 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴🤝 one another. It encourages people to speak up about their current challenges and promote mental health discussions.

Individuals who 𝙨𝙩𝙧𝙪𝙜𝙜𝙡𝙚 with mental health often stay 𝙨𝙞𝙡𝙚𝙣𝙩, and that silence is the main cause of taking their own life.🕊️ So, for our 𝐥𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐝 𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐬🫂🫀, let’s make a change. 🤍

To celebrate last September, let’s all take part in 𝗿𝗮𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 🗣️suicide prevention awareness, 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗲💌 mental health and well-being, and even just simply 𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗰𝗸 𝘂𝗽 𝗼𝗻 our friends and family. One small action means the world to those in need of it, and 𝘁𝗼𝗴𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿🤝 we can help our peers 𝘀𝗲𝗲 the world from a 𝐛𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞.🎗️🌟

Miles Morales, known as Earth-1610’s Spider-Man, also happens to be someone trying to balance his life between being a teenager, a student in the elite Brooklyn Visions Academy, and a crime-fighting superhero all at the same time. I’m guessing that you’re not a crime-fighting superhero, but tackling so much at once sounds familiar, right?

𝗬𝗲𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗯𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗻𝘀 🏫‼️

Whether you’re a freshman or in high school for more than a year, you’re bound to
encounter one or two problems related to being a student, or you’re already experiencing them.

At some point, you may also find yourself relating to a character you’ve watched—one
that is going through almost similar things as you are. It feels even better to see when the character overcomes their concerns—it’s comforting to know that others can experience the same thing, making you feel valid and inspired.

In this three-part post series, three (3) characters from movies representing common
issues students encounter will be shown, along with the steps they took to try to
overcome them.
